ProsYou can work your way up in this company! They reward hard work and teach you a multitude of skills: retail knowledge, statistics, goal setting, and customer service skills.

ConsIt's really easy to feel burnt out from long days of being on your feet, talking to customers, and then closing. Closing is not fun because you have to fold a ton of clothes and prepare the store for the next day.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep doing what you're doing! I learned a lot from this job!

Great Experience Fun People

I worked at Aéropostale part-time for more than a year

ProsOur manager got to know us. He understood what our goals of our job were. He gave us hours based off how hard we worked. Funny and easy to get along with coworkers.

ConsOnly complaint is that they don't increase salaries often nor do they promote often.

Great Intro to Retail

I have been working at Aéropostale

ProsThe people are great and they offer great benefits. When you start you get both vacation time and 10 personal days a year. During holiday and peak times you can expect to work over 40 hours, but other than that you work an average of 40 hours a week.

They also offer rewards/programs to managers who work hard throughout the year. For assistants you have an opportunity to attend a special function with the CEO and upper management if you are selected as an outstanding manager. Upper management is very inspiring and committed to developing their teams.

ConsOften times the expectation of store visual standards is unattainable without overspending on payroll. With units moving as fast as they do and with limited payroll, it's hard to maintain the standard they expect.

Great Environment, annoying service policy

I worked at Aéropostale part-time for more than a year

ProsThe management was always nice, they really try to make Aero seem like a family. They only hire people that are outwardly friendly, so it is almost guaranteed that you will work with pleasant coworkers

ConsCustomer Service was always highly implemented. Usually a positive thing, although their customer servicing policy was so intense it was almost annoying. At times I felt like I was harassing customers just so my boss wouldn't yell at me.

Great atmosphere, learned a lot

I worked at Aéropostale as an intern for less than a year

ProsOverall good atmosphere at DC and Corporate. As an intern, supervising managers really wanted to be there to help you learn the most possible. Really took your opinions into consideration. Worked on cross functional team projects. 30% employee discount.

ConsLow hourly pay, but the experience outweighed this aspect. No other cons as an intern. Great experience.

Great first job.

ProsExcellent training, Flexible schedule, flexible time off, does not interfere with school, fun environment, builds a good foundation for future jobs, one of the nicer clothing retail companies.

ConsNo benefits for part time, horrible pay, they expect a lot for a minimum wage job, sometimes district and regional managers can be very picky, late closings, dust, rude customers.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive more hours to stores increase wages and benefits. Increase price of clothes.
