I worked at A.E. Petsche full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The core employees (non-management) that keep the company operating daily are the greatest asset of the company.

    Cons

Upper-management does not know how the effectively communicate to the rest of the employees. No clear directions are given, nor when goals are set they usually are not realistic and achievable.

An individual’s contributions are often overlooked and not rewarded.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In a company that claims that “the employees are the number one asset”, you should treat them as you as such. It appears there is a difference between a few favorites and the rest of the hard working employees. No one should have to go years without a pay increase and then be told you will get one if you meet certain criteria.

I have been working at A.E. Petsche

    Pros

Decent benefits. They do offer medical, dental, vision and life insurance but prices keep rising and coverage keeps declining. Expect to pay 75.00 biweekly for decent coverage for 1 person.
Being a part of Arrow, the company has a strong financial backing so it can whether turns in the economy.

    Cons

Low-Mid Level management is a joke. A lot of people are still there because they have always been there - not because they are competent. Employees with families are given a lot of grief if they voice that their family is more important. Try taking off to take your kid to the ER and you will be asked for a note to miss 1 day of work regardless of how much time you have in your "bank." Departments are run individually and all they care about is covering their own rear. There is no teamwork. Pay is decent but by no means competitive. When over time is cut you are expected to work for free to keep up with your tasks. People don't cover your work when you are gone so expect to come back from vacation with piles. Worst run company I have ever seen.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Arrow needs to step in! A.E. Petsche attitude and beliefs need flushed down the toilet. They now belong to Arrow and are a part of the real corporate world. Department heads need to be expected to do their job the Arrow way - not the half butt Petsche way. Favoritism/Nepotism needs addressed. Cross training should be put in to place. Too many changes need made for anyone with half a brain to consider working here. This company is HORRIBLE!

    I worked at A.E. Petsche

    Pros

I can't think of any reasons to work there other than a lot of money and good luck with that.

    Cons

Lack of communication between departments, operations and back office. Too much segregation between departments. People just looking out for themselves and not realizing we all work for the same company. Way behind in the technology department. Running on obsolete and inadequate computer & software equipment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend the money and upgrade systems. You'll probably recoup the cost as you save recruiting $ because people will actually want to stay instead of quitting all the time. Also management would be better equipped to make good business decisions if they had accurate information showing what's actually making/losing money.

I have been working at A.E. Petsche

    Pros

The salary is competitive and they do a good ob with expenses

    Cons

management lacks direction and assistance. Often was told one thing but instructed to do another. There was little to no sales support and inside sales is at odds constantly bad mouthing one another

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Intervene in the Atlanta office as inside sales is a disaster and management lacks managerial skills.

I have been working at A.E. Petsche

    Pros

My local manager is very good, good line card but needs some help.

    Cons

A small company that arrow bought but it needs some MAJOR infrastructure help.
The computer system is dreadful and the product teams are not staffed well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need better leaders who can see that the 1970's business style will not allow you to compete.
