Former Employee - Intern  in  Lahore (Pakistan)
Former Employee - Intern in Lahore (Pakistan)

I worked at A.F.Ferguson & Co. as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

The work environment was very professional and good considering my friend and I were the only two females in the office that we went to. If we did not learn much about accounting, at least we learnt a lot about the textile companies in Pakistan.

    Cons

We were assigned the same monotonous task for 3 months! The worst part was that the person who explained how to use the software we utilized for our tasks, did not do a great job of teaching us how to use the software. Despite our repeated questioning everyday my classfellow and I, never really understood what it was that we were doing because we always got the same answer to our queries: "Kaam kartay jao, samajhnay kee koi zaroorat nahin hai."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be better if interns were given tasks that taught them something other than the fact that a career as an accountant is a dull and boring, monotonous task!
