    Pros

It was a very team oriented company, helpful during and after the new learning curve time. They offered a wonderful training program.

    Cons

Other than the company being bought out, I can't say anything negative, or downsides to the Company. They were great. They Company, and the staff.

    I worked at A.G. Edwards & Sons full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great training, wonderful people, it was a good experience starting a book from scratch at this employer.

    Cons

Hard to start a book from scratch. The people I was working with were wonderful though and I enjoyed working there. Selling the business 2x in 2 years was a tough transition for people and much of the corporate culture was lost in the transitions. Overall likely a good move for people with equity though.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Should have stayed independent

add mentoring after training - better yet, on the job training to improve the ROI in investing in new brokers
