I worked at A Southern Season full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Like most service industry jobs, if you work hard, you'll make good money. As captain/lead server, there were many opportunities to work special events which meant a little more money.

    Cons

Weathervane and Southern Season are in the process of expanding into new markets, so there was a lot of change and disorganization when I left. Restaurant management was always a little difficult, but easy to avoid if you are a reliable employee. Lots of senior customers who didn't always tip well.

    Pros

GREAT environment to work in. Coworkers were amazing to work with, job was simple, but not to the point where I felt like I could be doing something else. I loved working there.

    Cons

At times it felt as if the management wanted us to read their minds.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure all of your employees, from management to housekeeping, feel as though they are a part of the team. Working there, it often feels as though certain groups of people aren't a part of the whole.

I worked at A Southern Season full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

some of the customers are very nice

    Cons

appalling treatment of employees-no respect-no appreciation of employees who all have so much collective experience and intellectual knowledge about the world. Its my way or the highway-no possibility for creativity -no allowance for employees to make suggestions. I finally left on my own accord.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
