    Pros

Great brands, some really smart, creative, fun people. Never dull, entrepreneurial spirit, meritocracy.

    Cons

Management is tough if you aren't in it 200%, some management by 'fear', didn't move fast enough to embrace changing digital landscape so now catching up

    Advice to Management

You have great brands for the new digital landscape! Embrace change

    Pros

Your work experience can be stellar here depending on your department. If you are looking to move up the ladder quickly look somewhere else. You'll be a cube hamster forever here.

    Cons

This used to be a great place to work with lots of security but times are changing and the company has become one big giant revolving door.

    Advice to Management

Programming and marketing suck. Re-org or this ship will sink quickly.

I worked at A&E Networks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you work in sales/advertising their were many perks from agencies taking AE's out. Also vice versa where account executives took agencies out for dinner, lunch, drinks, mani + pedi, etc.

    Cons

Sales service representative is 3 months of training. Trainers are under staffed and under qualified. Work is limited and not rewarding.

    Advice to Management

    Listen more to employees

I have been working at A&E Networks full-time

    Pros

Hire you as a temp and after a year or more they convert you to employee. The only problem they give you a lower salary because now you get mainly free medical care. Media company. However you don't get to see no famous people

    Cons

New management has decreased morale took away some benefits that the little people care about. The lower u r on the food chain the least amount of days off and vacation. Senior management can take off whenever and whoever they please. So taking away summer Fridays or no. Longer closing between Christmas and holidays only impacts those of us that don't have the luxury afforded to the execs get to take off whoever they want

    Advice to Management

Stop taking away the benefits that matter to the little people. All the brands and departments are siloed Perform 360s on vps that manage large groups of people. Many of the policies are from the Jurassic period. Review them. Bring them up to date. And would it kill you to hand out some swag we could display on our desks which makes us feel more like the company

I worked at A&E Networks (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a network so you can learn the basic processes and functions of departments at a network.

    Cons

They don't promote. Not sure A+E will be around when the system of delivery changes for TV. It's a very 80s atmosphere. It's a company where older execs go work to pull a salary to pay their mortgage and kid's tuition, and hire all their irrelevant friends. It's not a company that's competing. They don't appreciate quality or new ideas. Look at their content. The LA office is run by women who spend more time gossiping about the CEO's outfits than they do actually doing their jobs. You won't get inspiration or team-building from them. They just don't care about the company. As a result, the young people are forced out for caring and, thereby, posing a threat. it's kind of shocking what goes on there, really. If you're young, it will kill your spirit to work there. Don't do it.

    Advice to Management

Raise expectations and actually manage. Change regime in LA and give LA office a boss. C-level of the company is in NYC and come out to LA maybe three times a year for events. Can anyone be expected to best the competition when you don't even have a boss to answer to and your job and salary are secure no matter what?

    Pros

Nice people and culture. Benefit package.

    Cons

Work life balance is lacking depending on who you work for. It is up to the managers discretion to allow flexibility and there are huge disparity's manager to manager. Some employees are treated like children and others like adults.

    Advice to Management

Institute a consistent policy for ad hoc telecommuting
