I have been working at A&E Networks full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits, good shows, friendly coworkers

    Cons

No room for growth, too many unqualified managers. The pay is very low. They don't value their employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers should be trained to learn how to be leader. A department cannot be productive unless manager knows what they are doing

I have been working at A&E Networks as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Working for a worldwide recognized brand is always a nice feather in the cap. Some nice people here.

    Cons

Way too many necessary people stuck in "temporary" positions. They tend to treat consultants as second-rate citizens. On one hand, they say that there's a freeze on headcount but then they go ahead and hire a whole new slew of managers and directors. Too many middle and senior-level managers and not enough people to do the actual work - thus leading to overcommitment and micromanaging. And the people placed in positions of management and decision-making are not well-qualified to have those positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your managers how to be good managers and treat consultants better.

    I worked at A&E Networks

    Pros

I learned a lot about the TV industry considering I was coming from the advertising world

    Cons

Way too may freelance, temp and contract workers in positions of influence.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually hire some of the temp/contract workers instead of stringing them along for years with a hope of employment.
