Pros
The best thing about Aeropostale is the people and the pride that they all have
Cons
Workload may be changing at times due to the demands of the business.
aero can be a little more competive when it comes to compensation and benefits. Something to think about??
Advice to Senior Management
Stay true to your roots!!! Don't change who you are, just be inclusive to what's happening and keep t fresh!!! Don't leave your avenue!!
Pros
You generally work with some really great people. Normally a fun and laid back environment. The company itself is good, its the District Management & Store Management that is messed up
Cons
District and Store management choose favorites even if they don't have the qualifications. I was passed up for promotions on several occasions and had more experience then anyone they brought in,
Pros
-I enjoy working with some of the other associates and managers
-When its busy, time passes quickly
-Usually accomidating when you need time off
-Good starter job
-Has good/wholesome values
Cons
-Very disorganized within the store
- Some Managment/Sales Leads can be unapperciative of the work done by sales associates
-Managment/Sales Leads havelarge egos that make working with them very trying
-Hours can be very few and inbetween
-Raises are almost noexsistant
-Customers can be frustrating at times
-Expect to be the last store out of the mall and to be out after 10:30 pm
-Not the best training
-Poor communication
Advice to Senior Management
Appreciate the work that your sales associates do and do not treat them like they are a little part of the puzzle becuase without us it would be almost impossible to run a store. Also base hours on performance and ability.
Also try to stick to the values that you have and enforce them within the store
Pros
You learn retail and how to properly recover a store neatly, efficiently, and also learn to be meticulous and detail-oriented.
Cons
The hours aren't based on performance. A 16 year-old worked the most and she did nothing. Many late, late nights.
Advice to Senior Management
Please hire competent people and try to get us out of there at a reasonable time! But thanks for encouragement.
Pros
Actually get money, REALLY good employee discounts (take advantage of that), and really cool rewards sometimes. If it's the only thing that you have up for a job, take it! The money is worth it in the end usually.
Cons
Not very many hours, tons of call-ins that you usually don't have to work, managers nagged at me for stuff that I already was doing/knew, the store was a mess until I came around and cleaned it up (which no one really thanked me for), and it's just overall crazy with the scheduling system. You also have to memorize 10 things you have to do each time (which they also nagged me about), but whenever I went in to shop there, no one did any of that...odd.
Advice to Senior Management
Do not treat new employees like they don't know anything, guide the new employees with respect and then observe them, compliment things they're doing right, the schedule system sucks.
Pros
The salary is great and compensation is good as well.
Cons
takes alot of your time and requires dedication
Pros
The managers are nice and closing is also fun. You learn a lot of values that you can carry on to your future job.
Cons
The rude customers are so annoying. As well as working during the holiday seasons. The store is crowded and customers are 10x more rude.
Pros
folding clothes, manners like saying welcome to aeropostale, nice shopping at aero.
Cons
The work at Aeropostale was long and tiresome.Recovery after store closing was derision with staying here every 2 extra hours.
Advice to Senior Management
The leadership at Aeropostale is overall pretty good. I love the manager and the assistant managers. They are all nice, well respected.
Pros
ideas are valued and encouraged within the field and corporate office
Cons
continuing a culture as a "small company" when in fact we are growing can be difficult.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to communicate and reinforce the values that made us great
Pros
Some of the people that worked there was cool and nice. nice brakes and fun work environment. i love the store and the clothes and i will continue to shop at Aéro just not the store i worked at.
Cons
the managers are rude! i have never felt so disrespected ever in my life!
Advice to Senior Management
try not to make other people fell small our unwanted. Being nicer is also a plus.
