Pros
- Great Work life Balance
Cons
- Limited opportunities for growth
Pros
Good salary
Good location
Elaborate off-site/annual meetings
Cons
Overly political environment; people stabbing each other in back to achieve
Senior HR Management incompent, plays favorites over top performers
You won't be popular with your co-workers unless you socialize with them off hours
Ideas aren't examined or applauded on their merits but rather on who's offering them
Antiquated, old school, environment, where ppl expect respect merely on their job title or level (VP, etc) and not on their behavior.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop playing favorites
Stop the "we only do it this way" attitude
Step up your knowledge in HR Best Practices
Pros
OT for Insurance Agent
Lot of exsiting clients to cross sell
Paid Advertising
Cons
They are always on a witch hunt. Reps are always in fear of losing there jobs.
Compensation plan is very confusing and is NEVER black or white.
Unrealistic goals
Sale... Sale... Sale... then posibly some life.
Taking a vacation is almost non-exsistant. Most Insurance Agents are at or right under PTO cap.
( When I left I have 308 hours of vacation)
" If you dont got the numbers.. You are NOBODY!!!!"
Advice to Senior Management
Take care of you Agents, Update your systems on time, Reprice your Homeowners policy. Your homeowners insurance policy is more than 30% higher than your competitors.
Pros
There are two AAA's, I think - the corporate folks, and the agents/back-end support who make it all happen. The latter are the real heart and soul of this company, and possibly the only reason it still manages to thrive. I have grown to admire, respect - even love these people, for their realness, their no-nonsense attitude, and their tireless work that floats the rest of us!!! Hats of to them, they *are* the heart of AAA.
Cons
My rating was based on my opinion of the corporate staff, because I work most closely with them, and while I think there is opportunity to do good work - it's a bit of a mess.
Advice to Senior Management
Go down to the ground level and look at the truth of the matter. Don't just listen to the rosy stories people around you are telling you. God, it's so Shakespearic!
Pros
Great benefits, work/life balance, and great people to work with....
Cons
Management reorganizes every year due to incompetent decision making at the top of the organization. If we had competent leadership, this company would be a phenomenal place to work, but when your top execs are more interested in their salary and golden parachute then the success of the business, you have a problem.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees.
Pros
face to face w/members the product is a good one......
Cons
only cares about numbers does not what kind of business just numbers....
Pros
It has taken years for AAA to build the brand reputation it has today. As the competition gets tougher and the consumers more demanding we need to do everything possible to preserve the AAA name. We owe it to our Members who trusted us, our past Board Members and Executives who led us and our past/present employees who believe in what the AAA name represents.
Cons
We have been working on our website for the past several years now and other organizations still out pace us. Daily, you can look at many other websites and see that we have fallen behind. When you view the websites of our competitors it is clear that navigation is much simpler and content is easy to understand. On a positive note, our website reporting has improved and our plans to improve the system are good. We just need to improve our ability to execute.
Our Sales Representatives are looking forward to the new MemberPoint 2.0 system rolling out as presented in past communications. We are counting on it working correctly as it will make a huge difference in new sales and the reduction of handling time. We realize the December launch date was delayed to ensure a smooth deployment but as a result, we also trust that the system will be robust with member information; member preferences and more importantly, it works correctly. If not, we fear the employee and member impact will be significant.
Another area we need to watch closely with the Club is the level of outsourcing. In many organizations new leadership tends to pull this lever as it delivers short term results and is a good resume builder. If not preformed correctly or thoughtfully the backlash usually hits about 18 to 24 months later as customer satisfaction declines and employees with historical knowledge have been released. The result is you either proceed forward in hopes to improve the relationship with the vendor or bring the work back in house but still struggle because your knowledge base (employees released) have moved on.
Advice to Senior Management
We would suggest that the Club Board Members observe the Club very closely. The Insurance Company has a solid business plan and is on the right path. Unfortunately, the Club (with its narrow margins) can turn very quickly. We believe if the board scrutinizes future decisions they will be better postitioned to step in and execute their contingency plan prior to any long term damage to the brand.
Pros
Great Brand, I have been promised amazing things, but I am too new to know if they are attainable.
Cons
Very Expensive Benefit Packages, Change in Directions from The Other Change In Directions, a little strange for 110 Year Old Co! Everyone seems nervous about their employ, I am still pretty new, but already I have witnessed some ridiculus office politics, reminds me of a Junior High School. Brand awareness, for such a seasoned company should be a giant concern at the executive level.
Advice to Senior Management
Realize that each state and different locations through out that state cater to far different clientele. With the "new" medium of a thing they call the "internet" business this large are being forced to act like small business for each location. This is a good thing. Do not be afraid AAA Execs. welcome this with open arms and use it to our adavantage. Local offices and local policies and local adverstising programs. Nevada is not the same as Utah or N. Cal , St. George is Very different from Salt Lake, Elko is not the same as Eueka, and Las Vegas is slightly different to Orem! I am looking forward to the latest changes and the new CEO........
Pros
Job security, conservative environment, good values
Cons
Slow growth, poor project management, ignore lessons learned
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to what employees have to say

Open enviornment too cubical. Noisy. Watch out for the politics.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the first line managers.
