Pros
Very good pay for what we do. If you work hard, the company will stand behind you 100%. If you like taking care of people, this is the job for you. With the right attitude, you can go far in this company. Lots of great people to work with, and a solid, caring management team. Many different departments to explore different types of work.
Cons
Being that you are working in claims, yes, you have to deal with cranky customers sometimes. But if you treat them with courtesy and respect, most of them will treat you the same. If you hear people complaining, it's because they have a bad attitude about the work. If you don't like dealing with phones and customers all day long, this is not the job for you. Not a lot of room to move way up unless you want to move to Oklahoma or California.
Advice to Senior Management
I would say, pretty much keep up the good job! Don't fix it if it's not broken!
Pros
*In-house gym
*Subsidized Cafe (but for the subsidy is for full-time EEs only)
Cons
*Restructures eliminated lots of both full time and contracts potions.
Pros
Ability to telecommute and benefits.
Cons
Too much politics. Difficult to get the right thing done. The way the organization is set up is inefficient.
Advice to Senior Management
Hire people that are competent enough to take ownership of their own work.
Pros
Lots of free food lol
Cons
Dealing with upset customers but that's universal.
Advice to Senior Management
More food?
Pros
Used to be enjoyable, hope it is again. Coworkers are great. The company has a great heritage and strong brand.
Cons
High stress, lack of clarity with objectives, moving targets and a disrespectful approach. Maybe it's just in finance, but I doubt it.
Advice to Senior Management
Do an employee survey and take a hard look at certain top level execs.
Pros
Good pay and friendly customers
Cons
They treat the Employees like a piece of machine. They want you to keep number up and forget to be NICE to the customers.
Advice to Senior Management
get PEOPLE who CARE and quit treating like kids and show them the respect they deserve
Pros
Great place, nice office, life and work balance.
Cons
Outdated technology, they need to catchup on this field. Disorganized leadership.
Advice to Senior Management
Establish clearer goals and growth for employees
Pros
work life balance was great with the right supervisor fighting for you. pay was good enough with the mandatory overtime it worked out okay.
Cons
outdated systems--new system coming in was lousy----no proper training---rush rush to get your job knowledge just to change it up again and again---no knowledgable supervisors on floor---supervisors do not know the product---supervisors are all about how can I look good---supervisors dont care about the advancement of their subordinates, because they dont want the competition!!!!
Advice to Senior Management
get supervisors who have knowledge in the product. its not always about the numbers front line people have the word PEOPLE in it. we deserve the respect that is not given by the supervisors
Pros
Its a name that people know nation wide
Connected with some big groups
Cons
Need to make sure you get paid the right amount, they tend to forget days you are working
Benefits do not start until about three months in - try to negotiate something to hold you over
Overall benefits had some high points but much better packages at other companies
People tend to work in silos – nobody really wants to work together, mindset seems to be passive aggressive
Management is not aware of what is happening – mixed messages from all sides
Lack of respect for individual needs
Overall pay tends to be below average
Overall strategies tend to be out dated or trying to keep up with others – not leading the pack
Management seems clues on the advantages of technology
Advice to Senior Management
The group is seems overwhelming outdated – bring in new mangers won’t resolve overarching issues, strategies need to change… but maybe getting bought by another club was a good thing
Look at changing your whole mindset - your membership is getting older… the younger generation has more options at a better prices
Pros
Salary, benefits nothing else. And even those are only good things because I came from California and kept my salary
Cons
supervisors
coworkers outside my department
management
opportunities to advance
opportunities
atmosphere
corporate culture
Advice to Senior Management
Treat employees like adults, give them a voice in the changes needed to make the company work well for all
