    Pros

Good location, some nice employees but most are too scared to challenge management

    Cons

Bully bosses, no room for growth. A fairly racist management regime.

    Advice to Management

Check your middle management and shake out the dead wood and the little circles justifying their existence with standover tactics and bullying.

I worked at AAPT full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

AAPT was a good place to work. Friendly people, good work-life balance and advancement opportunities. A bit more flexible than larger competitors.

    Cons

A lot changed after the purchase by TPG. Lots of cuts to staff numbers but no reduction in workload.

I worked at AAPT full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This was a nice place to work, having been amalgamated from several smaller companies, it still had flexible and non-buraeucratic work practices whilst having resources to fund major projects.

    Cons

Since leaving, company has been bought by McDonalds of Telco industry; cheap, fast, but not good. Read up on TPG.

    Advice to Management

All senior management have changed in the past few years so this is irrelevant.

I have been working at AAPT full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good coworkers and work life balance, however this is changing with TPGs acquisition of AAPT

    Cons

Lack of clear direction by management even when an employee requests it. Executives are not all on the same page & do not listen to employee feedback. All action is purely reactive to circumstances & there is no proactive analysis & implementation

    Advice to Management

TPG management need to treat employees like people instead of micro managing (eg log in log off requirement). AAPT management need to actually do some "management" instead of just being a "yes man" to upper management. Manager also need to focus more on people management, training, motivational techniques ect

I worked at AAPT full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

People are friendly with many well skilled people. The salary package was good, and the life/work balance was also good.

    Cons

Initially started to plan for long term and large stratigic projects with our business customers, but then reverted back to a transactional focus on just getting carriage and PSTN services in the door. A race to the bottom. Some of the GM's got the message, but due to internal executive politics ended up managing the company for what looked like a sale.

    Advice to Management

You need to invest in the business to succeed if you're serious about the ICT environment and you want to avoid competing on just traditiuonal carriage services because this will lead to price erosion and a race to the bottom.

    Advice to Management
