Former Employee - Machine Build Leader in Auburn Hills, MI

I worked at ABB Group full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

ABB has a good benefit package.work to life balance is not real good for the production workers. position in management may not be to bad

    Cons

ABB lets there in house employees treat the contractors working for them like they are not part of the team. But only as a tool to get a project done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

talk with your leaders about treating the contractors the same as in house employees. Don't make promises you don't intend to keep. Don't lie to employees to get more out of them it will only backfire later.

ABB is a very competitive and respectable place of employment.

Current Employee - Field Service Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI
Current Employee - Field Service Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI

I have been working at ABB Group

    Pros

The pay scale seems very competitive and fair. 401k, pension plan, vision, dental and health! Coworkers are always willing to support if needed. The managers are all former Field Service Personnel and know what it takes to get the job done.

    Cons

The travel for my particular job is significant. Not good for someone with close family ties. There is a just get the customer taken care of mentality with no regard for the employee needs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the needs and concerns of your employees. Some of the low people actually have some helpful things to add.
