    Decent pay, PTO and good manager

    Cons

    Some branches are Union and a District Manager that manages with fear and intimidation.

    Pros

    Salary is good but that is iot

    Cons

    Working for 10 years at one location and then they tell you are not going anywhere because you are too old to move to a larger store and make more profit for ABC. 58 years old and where do I go. Guess I will stay put and continue making money for ABC.....REALLY!!!!!!

    Pros

    This is a solid company that isn't going anywhere. You will have work to do each day.

    Cons

    This company is performance bonus driven from the top down. This is good in some ways however it creates an environment where the bonus is the most important thing. Things might not be repaired so that someone can make a couple of bucks on a bonus. District management controls individual stores through the store manager. Many decisions are not something that a local store manager can make. The company tells you often how important you are but doesn't reward you with a solid paycheck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Consider the waste that the bonus system creates. Think about the fuel and manpower wasted to transfer product. Change the waste into improved income for the associates. Please get rid of the stupid race car! Roofers don't watch Indy racing!

    The Best reason to work here are. The people that work here are all friendly, the hours you work give you time with your family.

    Pros

    Possibly some of the coworkers

    Cons

    Say they are family oriented, but proof of that remains to be seen.
    Management does not know how to develop their staff and set them up for success.
    Management does not know how to effectively train their staff.
    If you do not fit in with them on a personal level, you do not stand a chance.
    Would not recommend to anyone.
    Pay was not worth the stress of dealing with the politics in this location.
    Branch Manager only cared about the profit of the branch and will do anything to receive the larger bonus check.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take a closer look at how each branch is run and maybe implement some standardization across all of the branches.
    Set up a training plan for all new associates with realistic expectations.
    Train the branch managers how to effectively develop and motivate their staff in an appropriate manner.
    Realize that your staff and customers are the key to your success and take pride in knowing that their success is also yours. It is not all about the numbers, you need to build your client base and retain your staff and the money will come with that.
    It is unfortunate that a large privately owned company with great values has Branch Managers that cannot properly represent the company values.

    Branch Manager could not manage people

    District Managers are un aware of what goes on day to day, no support, belittling, very poor people skills in some cases

    Direct Mgmt. needs to take some classes on effectively motivating and managing their team.

    Pros

    benefits were good as well as the ability to travel to meet your customers. They do have great moral and a great mission statement and the whole story of the company and the founder is great.

    Cons

    Too much of a workload with no help given at all, or what little help their might have been, would be quickly taken away. No real direction, only told what has to be done and if your doing good, it was never good enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to your employees, perhaps have thier back when you know it is warranted. Might want to also take some management courses, because motivation skills are not there. No one wants to have you breathing down their backs, always worried what's going to happen next. Spread out the workload more.
