A great job to have part time while going to school.

I have been working at ABM Industries part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Although I am part-time, I still have the opportunity for full time benefits such as: insurance, 401K, and paid vacation/sick days.

    Cons

The hours for the shift can be a little odd, but nothing unmanageable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep it up.

I have been working at ABM Industries full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Decent benefits overall. And most of the non-management people are good people. Just working hard like everybody else.

    Cons

Upper management doesn't do a good job of communicating with employees or their customers. Company doesn't want to spend money where it's needed. Always looking for the cheap way out. Pay scale is LOW. Don't expect to be happy here if you're looking for $$$

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate better with your customers and take better care of your employees and maybe you'll keep more good workers and stop losing accounts.

    Pros

The type of job you do they offer ok benefits

    Cons

You have to join the union (Teamsters911) and pay union dues every month for no reason because the union doesn't help the employees when they in need, the pay is cheap for what you do and put up with, management sucks and they power trip all the time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean management cause they are the problem, pay more attention to what employees have to say.

I worked at ABM Industries full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great for a college student, easy to talk to people from different backgrounds as your interacting with them during transactions. Management is in control, always looks to make as much revenue as possible to help company grow.

    Cons

Company kind of stuck in the dark ages, not much room for promotion due to union contract, aging work force, technologically lacking compared to other companies.

I worked at ABM Industries full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible schedule, nice coffee machines, everyone is pregnant

    Cons

Senior management sets a bad tone with favoritism and sexism, office culture is poor, big egos at the top, few opportunities to advance from within, cutthroat, poor work-life balance, no merit reward system to motivate, staff is either very old (and stuck in a dead end) or fresh out of college with no idea what's coming. Company is too big and impersonal. Company has no vision. HR is a joke. Won't pay to keep talent or get new talent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Retire
