    Cons

They do not match talent and education to job responsibilities. Blue collar approach to business development. Little opportunity for advancement.

I have been working at ABM Industries full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

above market salary, some groups can work remotely several days a week, flexible work schedule

    Cons

insurance benefits are just ok for the price, little to no opportunity for upward mobility

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There does seem to be some favoritism. Give more employees opportunities to shine. Also, the "yes" person is not always the best person.

I have been working at ABM Industries full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I have been with ABM over 5 years and will continue working here until retirement. I personally feel that in the last 5 1/2 years I've grown with this company and have been apart of its development. ABM is about caring for its guests, clients and employees. Upper management has always been very easy to talk to and discuss concerns or ideas with. Corporate help has always been there when needed. I've always been treated fairly and have seen management coach instead of dictate to fellow employees which creates a better work environment. Having worked up the ladder with ABM, I HIGHLY recommend ABM as an employer.

    Cons

Better benefits and PTO isn't offered until you become a salaried employee at most locations. Others areas may vary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue scouting for possible management talent in current employee pool, because there are truly good workers that care about this company and its future.

I have been working at ABM Industries

    Pros

Full time work. My site is flexible with hours. Decent pay. Eventually I'll have benefits. Great coworkers. My site manager actually cares about me.

    Cons

Two out of three paychecks have been messed up. Overpaid by 136 hours and they punish the employee who's honest and calls about it by taking all of your money until it is paid back, only they screwed up again and didn't tale the first half of the hours and are completely unwilling to work with the employee so they can take care of bills.

They say they will provide uniforms and shoes but don't.

Branch manager is rude and treats people like they are worse than scum.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Fire the incompetent payroll.

Work with your honest employees who bring up pay issues so it can be resolved fairly.

Don't allow branch mangers to create a hostile environment.

    I worked at ABM Industries

    Pros

Some of the insurance Benefits were good

    Cons

Many devious and unethical practices were followed. Employees were not given raises or rewarded for years of service where new employees were brought in at a much higher rate while other with 15 years of service still made minimum wage. Employees were never developed or offered promotions. Top management and corporate are very discriminatory. The marketing propaganda is only that, propaganda. It is not shared or educated to the working level. Any practice to get "around" the law, they have mastered it...and many that are out-right illegal according to stakeholders rules.
