    Pros

Great people, committed and hard working

    Cons

Staff overworked and hindered by process and protocols. Lack of clear communications across departments

    Advice to Management

Need to focus on what matters most. Set priorities and let go of other items. OR, higher more staff.

    Pros

The Interim General Counsel is wonderful. She is thoughtful, and encouraging. She really wants to make sure that things are done appropriately. She encourages her employees to push themselves to their limits. That is totally refreshing and not the norm.

    Cons

Know it all managers, the inability to self police -- not being able to admit when the knowledge isn't there, vindictivenss, people horde knowledge as though it is currency, which is very scary. No respect for knowledge of institutional history -- total lack of teamwork.

    Advice to Management

Act as a team. Times are hard and it is very important to move as one, not like you're trying to create your own little fiefdom.

    I worked at AC Transit

    Pros

    Well established company
    Great benefits
Plenty of busy work, if you don't mind looking for it
    Strong Union

    Cons

Part of the problem is the Union in that people that should no longer be working there are kept on regardless of their work performance or contribution to their department or the company as whole
In certain departments, there can be undercutting, sniping, and pretty much alot of pettiness on the part of SOME employees

    Advice to Management

Accountability, and an open door policy (that does not persecute the whistle-blower, and actually lends a hand to help in situations) would be helpful
