I worked at ACCO Brands full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

I learned a great deal from various positions I held. Exposure to numerous facets of the business both internal and external helped me to grow and obtain knowledge I previously did not possess. The people employed there are an asset and great to work with.

    Cons

The economy has hit the office products industry hard. ACCO has been one to experience such a down turn.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not lose sight of the core values that made ACCO. Changes also offer opportunity to reinvent yourself within the marketplace.

I have been working at ACCO Brands

    Pros

They have a pretty flexible work schedule, fair pay, as well as a laid back and fun environment for working

    Cons

The process for internal hires who are waiting to hear about possible new positions is very slow and often seems as though it's being avoided.

I have been working at ACCO Brands as an intern for more than a year

    Pros

Good office culture, everyone works together well, diverse workforce, treat interns well, lots of teamwork. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming, great environment. Really enjoy the work I'm doing. Seems like a great place to begin a career.

    Cons

There are a lot of layoffs through the transition of the acquisition of MWV to ACCO. There are a lot of things up in the air, and people seem to not know what is going on. Company morale is kind of low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more intentional about communicating to the lower employees.

I worked at ACCO Brands as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Great people, good company culture. I enjoyed my time there, however it showed that retail marketing wasn't for me. My managers were very helpful and personable. I would recommend the company to someone interested in this line of work.

    Cons

I found that retail marketing tended to be more order processing than actual marketing work. Seemed more like Operations Management than real marketing experience.

Worked with largest drug-store firms such as Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid (even though they were quite demanding, price oriented (as opposed to relationship) and overall unloyal.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You're doning a swell job! Culture was as exciting as I've seen.
