    Pros

Working in the Glendale office, I've had access to endless resources. With an engineering department, systems operations department, construction group, etc. there is always someone who can either answer your questions or direct you to someone who can. The helpful employees make this the perfect learning environment. Wages and benefits are comparable to or exceed industry averages for most position. Also, the ESOP program is a huge bonus. There is always room for growth. I also get the sense that my management team and coworkers genuinely want me to succeed. The people really are the best part of ACCO. During my first week on the job, I said that this would be the place I'd retire... A few years later, I haven't changed my opinion.

    Cons

Some of the software systems are outdated.

    Advice to Management

    Keep helping your employees grow.

    Pros

San Leandro Piping Department provides superior fiscal and managerial support for all our ACCO NorCal projects. This teams strategy revolves around strict contract adherence and timely HVAC piping production for the client, first; profitability for ACCO comes in a close second. We have experienced profound project success and repeated/expanding project relationships utilizing this "old fashioned" ACCO business fundamental. Bravo!

    Cons

As personally experienced with construction companies transitioning from medium to large, I.T. at the field level is desperately catching up with new (corporate driven) I.T. practices. As the tenured Superintendents/General Foreman transition into retirement, the younger more agile I.T. Foreman are being promoted. This challenge may soon be a memory and effectively removed from the "cons" section. Recently, promoted field team members have shown a rapid embrace to our corporate based construction technologies and the ACCO machine keeps turning.

    Advice to Management

This terrific company is about to break the proverbial $1B annual mark. Our P unique Project group/ Construction group management infrastructure is a damn good platform. Our ACCO team delivers success with the client from both the communication side and production side thanks to ACCOs corporate infrastructure; brilliant. Let's keep the throttle pegged straight on through our $1B corporation benchmark. Proud to be a part of the team. Cheers!

    Pros

Lots of work, fast paced, privately owned company, lots of action in the office and if you work for the right PM it can be fun.

    Cons

Long hours, compensation is on the lower side until you are at the higher levels.

    Advice to Management

Do more to retain the engineers you spend years developing, award the engineers that go above and beyond even if it's just recognition.
