Pros – Gain experience for your next job. Immediate supervisors and co-workers will be nice, competent people. Compensation offered will pay some bills. Occasional promotions available.
Cons – All supervisors have to take furlough weeks, and there haven't been raises/cost of living increases in years. Initial salary offers are low. Most business units have hiring freezes, so career paths aren't clear or available in many instances. Ongoing layoffs. Constant workload increases have demoralized and physically exhausted staff at all levels but the most senior management.
Advice to Senior Management – Do more to retain key staff. Institutional memory loss due to management/staff leaving has eviscerated business units that were solid revenue sources.

Former Employee – worked at ACS International
Pros – Quick interview procedure, adequate training program, fairly up-to-date equipment, satisfactory work environment.
Cons – Lied about job during interview: never said it was 8 hours of handling complaints every day!
Advice to Senior Management – Train us to upsell after listening to 15 minutes of customer complaining. They don't want to buy when they're angry!

Former Employee – worked at ACS International
Pros – High Pay. Health benefits were competent when compared to others in the industry. Retirement benefits were weak. The key factor in working for ACS is to come in with a contract.
Cons – Poor working conditions. Very little opportunity for growth or advancing your knowledge regarding industry and technical issues. Very much a "good old boys club".
Advice to Senior Management – The company needs to focus on getting a more informed and engaged work force. ACS makes it very difficult to accomplish goals.

Former Employee – worked at ACS International
Pros – Training is the best part of the job. It was like going to comedy relief everyday while methods were highly effective for learning also. With the large group of employees, you were bound to find a small group that you could really 'click' with which made the job more tolerable. Managers are also in the same boat with the lower level employees so many are able to relate to challenges and can be helpful. EEO employer.
Cons – The shifts are scheduled at odd hours which can pose some difficulty for parents. The work is repetitive, some areas are congested and dirty, and some of the managers are uneducated and present themselves as such. EEO employer.
Advice to Senior Management – For those managers who disrespect employees with disparaging remarks, try something different, try kindness. You'd be surprised with how it makes you feel at the end of the week and the improved performance of your unit.
