There were no cons of working with the Ad ouncil

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This organization needs new leadership and management overhaul badly.

I have been working at AD Council full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Make a decent living while doing meaningful work. Hours are 9 to 5, unless you have trouble managing your time or if you have a manager that sets unrealistic deadlines.

    Cons

Hypocrisy. Besides the everyday perks that are only enjoyed by select employees, e.g. come and go as they please and working from home, there are actually written policies that are applicable on a cases by case basis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management by instinct can only get you so far, it's time to seek outside professional help.

I worked at AD Council full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Hours, pay and benefits are decent for a non-profit. OK for young people who need experience and have time to waste.

    Cons

Inept executive staff with false sense of intellectual superiority and clueless about leadership and management. Different rules for different folks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hopefully next CEO will clean house (starting from the top), change culture, send managers to management training, and eliminate some of the double standard.

I worked at AD Council as a contractor for more than 3 years

    Pros

What wonderful work the people on Madison Avenue do for the Ad Council and the greater good of the entire country. I have always been proud to have been a part of this organization.

    Cons

We needed more time to understand the truly best way to reach each market segment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Expand by reaching out to the local market segments!

    Pros

Nice area to work in, friendly employees. Everyone works as a team. We are Helping the community one PSA at a time!!

    Cons

    Non-Profit. Salary can be better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be nice to be consistent with the summer outings. There should be a more in depth training for each employee once they are hired. Suggesting a one week training.

I worked at AD Council as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

The Ad Council is filled with people who really care about what the work they do. Its a non-profit, so while the work can be slow to show results, when it does, its a rewarding experience. As an intern, I was given many opportunities to learn different programs and software that helped boost my resume.

    Cons

There are times when the work day can be very slow and boring.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the great job!

I have been working at AD Council

    Pros

The company rarely requires employees to work overtime, allows for great work/life balance, management is understanding towards personal needs for the time off.

    Cons

Compensation is something to be desired, although it is a non-profit, so lower salaries are to be expected. There is also little opportunity for growth, as the company is fairly small and there is little movement in within the management layer.

    I worked at AD Council

    Pros

    Great causes and awesome work

    Cons

Personally I thought it was left biased, when it's supposed to be non partisan. Also little room for growth and the compensation is weak.
