Current Employee – been working at ADP full-time
Pros – Freedom with Outside Sales, great salary/commission/benefits, get a new iPad (for work), everyone in Small Business is young and very outgoing/high energy/friendly...
Overall pretty awesome company to work for if the "hunter" sales role is for you.
Cons – Territory availability and composition means a lot (i.e. area with lots of manufacturing will produce versus a smaller beach community where business is tight knit and doesnt believe in being in compliance with federal and state law, where price is the driving factor), if not given good partners (i.e. referring bank institutions, referring accountants/CPAs) then lots of the work on you to foot prospect, cold call, etc...
Corporate America, lots of red-tape, procedures, policy... depends on office and management
Advice to Senior Management – Spread opportunity evenly amongst associates.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at ADP full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – ADP is the market leader and a household name so it carries quite a bit of weight. ADP also spends a bunch of money on R&D so despite what the competition says the technology really is superb.
Cons – You are definitely just a number in a huge machine. When you first start be prepared to be really micro-managed.
Advice to Senior Management – You hire your people for a reason...they are seasoned sales reps. Treat them as such

Former Employee – worked at ADP full-time for more than a year
Pros – Typical B2B job, not a lot of time spent in the office. You can use your time not in the office looking for another a job! You can get hired anywhere after working here for a few years!
Cons – Micromanaging
34k Base, HA
Mileage Reimbursement and Phone Allowance - 525 a month! That doesn't even come close to what you spend in gas and wear and tear on your car. I put 35k miles a year on my car!
High Turnover job, there is only 2-3 reps that have been in Dallas office over 2 years.
Implementation Team
Admins
Advice to Senior Management – Get a support team in place that really want to help the reps in their day to day activities. The sales people are there to sell, the Admins and Implementation team make it difficult to concentrate on just sales. Hire SE's that have hit P-Club, that know how to sell!

Current Employee – been working at ADP
Pros – Good benefits and paid time off
Cons – Training could be better and better expectations and advancement opportunities

Former Employee – worked at ADP full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Tons of training and additional courses to better yourself
Marketing Material - Leave Behinds- Data- Trigger events all available to put you in a better position to sell.
Cons – Management in some divisions are great but others the Managers could learn to lead better
Main issue was Implementation- They have destroyed a few sales of mine. They don't care and our compensated regardless if your deal stays or leaves.
Advice to Senior Management – Fix the Implementation department for all divisions. it is the reason I left.

Current Employee – been working at ADP
Pros – good base and benefits, lots of training opportunities, flexible work schedules, some managers allow outside sales people to work from home
Cons – You really need to fit it with the culture or this place is awful. They espouse a good game about being an inclusive and open work place but the reality is that if you don't fit the mold it is a very confining place to work.
Advice to Senior Management – Spend time in local offices! As an HR company the number of management abuses was really shocking. Even more shocking is the "we don't really care" attitude of management

Former Employee – worked at ADP full-time for less than a year
Pros – Good benefits that start at day 1 and great corporate training (quality of onsite training depends on manager)
Cons – The experiences really depends on your specific manager. Some are great, some are condescending and elitist. You can also be thrown into territory/quota before your training is even finished. Hard to sell when you don't know what you're selling. ADP uses SalesForce but allows multiple business lines to call into account simultaneously. Therefore, prospects get inundated with calls
Advice to Senior Management – Don't allow multiple business lines to call into accounts. And enforce the use of SalesForce. Most of the sales people don't use it because other business units will use the data to try to sell into account first.

Cons – bureaucracy. Typical cons involved with any big size company

Former Employee – worked at ADP
Pros – Good work life balance, nice work environment
Cons – Outsourced support so was time to leave

Current Employee – been working at ADP as a contractor for less than a year
Pros – Very flexible on time. Not micromanaged and can pretty much work as you want as long as you turn in the projects.
Cons – Training is horrible. Nobody comes in knowing anything about tax credits and training consists of 1 day of showing you how to do a 25-30 step process of producing 1 credit. After that, you're just kind of thrown in to figure things out on your own. The system is outdated and that gets annoying as well.
Advice to Senior Management – Spend more time developing a better training program on the systems as well as the position at hand.
