Pros
Associate level workers typically very hard working and professional
Some work - from - home opportunities available
Decent pay compensation
Cons
Certain Implementation VP level management is very weak:
Discriminating behavior and favoritism displayed
Lacking personal accountability and appropriate support of managers
Poor interdepartmental communication and operational unity
Low Associate staffing levels maintains constant stress and "emergency" situations
Advice to Senior Management
Increase Associate level staff to maintain a comfortable work environment and better client experience. Treat your employees as equally important as your clients.
Pros
Good bonus and medical benefits
Cons
Lack in communication and expectation is too high and base pay is not compensated well.
Pros
Lots of room for growth. Sales compensation is accurately laid out when you are interviewing with no suprises. Great company with strong financials. Excellent compensation and recognition.
Cons
Huge company. Easy to feel lost. Have to be your own biggest fan. Typical challenges of being in a huge organization - have to find your niche.
Advice to Senior Management
ADP is obviously working to reinvent itself, but some of the culture is ADP centric. Easy to rely on who has been here for a long time, but new perspectives can offer new opportunities. Seek more input that isn't necessarily taking the company line.
Pros
* Many career opportunities (I've had three promotions in six years)
* You control your income
* Flexible work environment - especially if you work in a remote office
* Not much travel
* Finally developing technology to be an industry leader instead of a laggard
* I have enjoyed working with all my sales managers
Cons
* Upper management can act selfishly at times and treat sales reps like a number - which is typical in sales
* We are slow to adapt to change
* Customers who aren't self-sufficient are often frustrated by customer service
* The company struggles to recognize that some markets are different than others and pushes the same solutions regardless of geography.
Advice to Senior Management
* Invest more in R&D
* Get away from the Mainframe so we can custom-build our solutions
* Improve marketing and social media - we still feel like a 1980s company at times.
Pros
very good work environment with good package
Cons
not much.. some projects middle management need to improve
Advice to Senior Management
nothing so far so good
Pros
They will teach you transferrable selling skills. Play favorites with management and you will climb the step-stool towards management. However get ready for a long wait once you get to the top. You're competing with hundreds of other reps for only a few new positions that open up.
Cons
On the SBS side you're competing against banks and intuit that offer the same value proposition for 1/5 of the price. You will also routinely see top performers lose accounts or territory while having quota's raised. The culture here is to bring in new blood to the meat-grinder rather than pay a closer's commission.
Advice to Senior Management
ADP is shaking in its boots that it is going to lose the small business market, because it is. This company is too big to compete for the minnows. They need to stop wasting cash on SBS and take a note from Ceridian. Keep dominating the mid market and growing that market share. There is no way SBS is a profitable venture for this company.
Pros
Working with ADP i a very nice experience. You tend to feel like that you are at home. Its kind of a extended family
Cons
Downside working for ADP pune is that it is located in out skirts of pune. So lots of commuting time is there
Pros
Very good work and personal life balance.
Good scope to learn new things.
High end/ Cutting edge technologies.
Cons
Restricted access during the work.
Pros
I cant think of many but the company is very flexible and diverse
Cons
There's a serious lack of management support, interest and mentoring. Particularly my department is focused only on numbers, logs, reports and no interest or focus on the core employee areas of opportunity to build solid teams, promote professional growth, lack of fostering positive internal relationships. Lack of focus on internal areas of opportunity that can lead to successful external results. Negative culture which creates disgruntled employees and a serious lack of employee recognition from Direct managers. The company and available positions are presented in an exacerbated form that are far from the reality of the role, the responsibilities and culture within the given department.
Advice to Senior Management
My number 1 advice is that sometimes you have to focus on the internal problems to see the improvements reflect on external results such as collaboration, improved sales processes, retention and client service. A successful manager is open to feedback, he/she is not just a team leader but also part of the team and the ego of many managers leaves a lot to be desired. Several managers in my department have little to no interest in the voice of their direct reports, those direct reports who are the ones who can work hard to represent that particular manager or department to exceed standards
Pros
They leave you alone and therefore there is no micromanagement (despite the excessive reporting of the same information to multiple reports).
Cons
They leave you alone while they pile on the work. There is absolutely zero ability in management to understand what it takes to staff projects properly. Projects are dished out like kleenex to everyone regardless of the size or scale of the actual project. Each resource has to handle anywhere between 25-40+ projects at any time...and it never stops. Working here has seriously decreased my desire to wake up at all in the morning.
