I have been working at ADP full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good work life balance if you are in the right department.
Associates and colleagues truly are good people and try their best to accommodate client needs.

    Cons

The company wants to focus on Human Resource Capital - yet it continues to downsize all departments laying off terrific and well talented "human resource capital". Not clear what direction the company is going. Top talent is leaving for other opportunities, not a good sign.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on your own internal "human resource capital"

I worked at ADP full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good benefits, telecommuting 1-2 days/week

    Cons

False promises of promotions that never materialized, incompetent management, only directors & above received bonuses & they weren't the ones doing the work. Prohibited from taking what you wanted for the 40 hrs training/ year. Yearly pay increases were a joke.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Most management were very incompetent

I have been working at ADP full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

If you find a place that is full of great people who really care about doing good job, and it has the flexibiity and culture that you fit with, you have found a place to stay. I have been elsewhere - I stay because on-balance it is a great place to work.

    Cons

It takes time to get acclimated. It is a very relationship based culture - you need to know lots of people to have career success. I am an introvert so it took time, but it was worth it. You have to have a longer term view to get it, not a place for a rocket to the top.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to talk to the new hires and get their input!

I have been working at ADP as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    1. Great business to be in. HCM is hot and growing; innovation-driven. In such a company with very diverse B2B offerings, you can literally learn a lot about business in one place.

    2. Great growth opportunity. As an intern you are given a important project, and getting great mentorship. ADP is the leader in talent management, e.g. it has a dedicated talent management system, including a trove of online courses and books.

    3. The culture is great. Great work/life balance. People are nice and approachable. Diversity is highly valued -- the CEO himself is an immigrant/minority, really brilliant yet humble.

    Cons

Common with large corporations -- sometimes different BUs/depts are not efficiently integrated -- clients might feel like dealing with multiple companies.

I worked at ADP as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Good atmosphere, chance at full time after internship. The office is newly renovated and they have a nice kitchen as well as a walking path around the office with a decent view.

    Cons

The work can get boring as there is a lot of research that has to be done. Also the space provided to interns was very secluded and it gave a detached feeling at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More hands on technical work would have made the job more exciting.
