    I have been working at ADT Security Services full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    training is on the job but some basic experience is needed... splicing/crimping wire... wire installation techniques for homes / small businesses.

    Cons

    being an installation tech is commission / piece rate... meaning you get paid by how fast you put up x amount of items.... faster you go the faster you can move onto the next job and make more money... slower you go... well you only get to install so much which means you only get paid so much.... hours are probably 8am at the 1st customers house then 6-8pm last customer house... installation managers don't report to anyone and don't know a thing about Leadership, Responsibility, Accountability, or Compassion.

    Learn to take care of your men rather than burying them in work. listen to what your employees are telling you and come up with a plan to help. If you receive Back talk which is not acceptable... let employees know instead of talking back and acting unprofessional. Become leaders and lead your team on a successful path and train your team to be leaders as well.

    meet new people In public, company offers monthly promotions to promote sales, great benefits, 13 cent per mile reimbursement, 70.00 monthly cell phone allowance

    no pay until job is installed, not enough compensation per sale, can't discuss beliefs to others

    Help sales reps jobs get installed as soon as possible, don't just watch how many sales are sold all day.

    Pros

    The flexible schedule is great. If you are looking for a 9-5 job this isn't it. You have to meet on your customers schedule, not yours.

    Cons

    Pay on close is trash. I sell a big job and it can't go in for a week and then it takes multiple days for the techs to install it. So the whole process of receiving my commission takes 3 weeks to a month. Poor management. I wouldn't recommended this job to anyone

    I have been working at ADT Security Services full-time

    Pros

    Hard to make less than $45,00 if you make any effort. Can make up to $100,000 and more with a life dedicated to work. Most make between $60-80,000. Truly feel like you are helping some people.

    Cons

    Sales is often the last to know of changes...which works backwards being that we are the front line. Your commission is earned only after admin, technician, and install managers do their job correctly. If anyone is rude or makes an error, you can lose a chunk of change if the customer cancels through no fault of your own. Understood that your day starts at 7:30 and doesn't end until 8-9pm. Working on Saturdays and late night appointments and call nights can wear on a family. Security sales is a cutthroat industry

    Allow more flexibility to the sales individual. Not everyone works well with SalesForce being shoved down our throat 24/7

    Pros

    The benefits are decent and you can make this work if you like working in a high-stress environment or love cold-calling. Other departments seemed to be satisfied with their positions.

    Cons

    Management was intense and micro-managed the sales team. Felt very oppressive yet some people were motivated by that management style - just not me.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be more aware of your management's style and maybe, occasionally, take the temperature of the sales staff to see if there is a more positive way to create the desired results.

    If you are not in outside sales, the benefits are great

    Cons

    Changes to oftern and it impacts the sales rep earnings, vacation time for a sales rep is $70 per day. Not worth going on vacation you get paid minimum wage or less.
