My AEC, INC experience was fairly rewarding. I traveled a lot and the job was challenging daily.

Product Support Engineer (Former Employee) New Berlin, WI

    Pros- Travel
    - Responsibility
    - Independence
    - Job diversity
    - Challenging

    Cons-Lack of cross training
    -Limited upward mobility
    -Average compensation

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide more and better cross training of products, promote only qualified employees, provide incentives for employees, establish a profit sharing program and revamp the 401K system to increase company contribution.

Good if you want to live in Sandy, OR

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Sandy, OR

ProsVery casual environment, flexible hours/schedules, and the staff/management is very community & family oriented. You *really* have to screw up or be completely useless to get fired.

ConsIf you're a Christian, then the Mission Statement is probably a breath of fresh air. If not, well, be prepared to deal with potentially uncomfortable situations like praying at potlucks, etc. AEC is very comfortable with "what" they are. They pay low because many of the employees want to stay in Sandy, so for the cost of living out there it's not a bad-paying gig. Portlanders? Forget it. You'll be paid $7-12 dollars less an hour for a comparable job in the metro area. The company is also very content with the size they are and has no desire whatsoever to grow. They have a great reputation in the industry but do not build on their current clientele. They are very risk-averse.

Advice to Senior ManagementNone really- AEC is what it is. I think as long as new hires are aware of what their potential growth will or will not be then they can continue with the status-quo.

    Great Place to Work!

Technical Writer (Current Employee) Sandy, OR

ProsManagement is not tightfisted, they know how to make a good working environment. Great open atmosphere and comfortable working environment. Casual dress code.

ConsPay is slightly less than at a mega corporation for the same work, but the work is of larger responsibility and the bonus program is great.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep doing what you are doing, everyone loves this place!
