Working at AG has taught me the basics of the sales process within technology and software organizations.

I worked at AG Salesworks full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great coworkers, management is always accessible, work-life balance is easily achieved, good benefits and ability to reach goals, good perks for doing well, flexibility with time off for personal things (holidays, appointments, emergencies, etc.), good place to come to from college, being independent is achievable if you are a hard worker, ability to take on extra opportunities such as social media, training, etc.

    Cons

It sometimes takes awhile for communication to make it to everyone in the office, career advancement is difficult and not always laid out due to the nature of working at a small company, some benefits could improve with company growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep coming up with ways to make BDRs enjoy their time (paying tuition is amazing) and try to communicate ideas and company direction often... it's nice to know what's going in and hearing it directly from management.

    Pros

Awesome co-workers, excellent management, clearly defined advancement program.

    Cons

Cold-calling, 8:30 to 5:30, without commission, the base salary isn't enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep doing what you're doing.

I worked at AG Salesworks full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

You will learn more about the technology sales process in your first 3 months than you will in 1 year anywhere else. The nature of the business grants you exposure to multiple companies, technologies and their respective target markets which makes you extremely appealing to all future employers.

Plenty of room to move up if you're willing to do more than just go through the motions.

The salary and compensation plan are similar to other companies who hire with <1 year experience.

Senior management and ownership are well versed in business development trends and best practices and they invest in technologies that help you to be successful.

    Cons

There is a lack of 1 on 1 coaching outside of the first 3-6 months of prospecting. Once you're trained and ramped it's on you to keep getting better and stay sharp.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop hiring employee referrals.

    Pros

Great laid-back atmosphere, great company to gain experience in sales and business development, fantastic superiors. Very fun to go to work!

    Cons

No upwards mobility to speak of, commission promised during interview is unrealistic to achieve, degree of difficulty of work is dependent on project placed on, barely a step up from absolute cold-calling.

    I worked at AG Salesworks

    Pros

Great culture, training program, support and experience. The people here are amazing and portray a family like atmosphere in the sense that you all work together and have great support. Everyone is there to help you succeed. You will learn everything you need to learn about starting your career in inside sales and then some. If you choose to move beyond this company you will leave with close friends and so much knowledge that will prepare you for your next step.

    Cons

Cold calling can be redundant. Can be stressful as it is a "sales" job. AG does their best to treat their comp plan as fair as possible but it's virtually impossible to please everyone and make it so the competition is 100% fair. Be prepared to work hard and be competing at times, with very competitive individuals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked with just about every person on the management team and everyone was/is very supportive and always had their door open for me. My advice is to just keep that up and make sure they are expressing this openness to all their employees and to listen to all opinions as some projects and situations can be very frustrating.

    I worked at AG Salesworks

    Pros

    Work hard, Play hard.

Fair with time off. Very flexible with emergencies, and last minute vacation requests.

Fun place to work, with very nice people

    Cons

Pay is not comparable to similar jobs in Boston area for inside sales/tele-prospecting reps.

    Commission is non-existent

Women shoot up the ladder faster than men

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not every project is the same. Dont treat every project as apples to apples.

Pay your people a little more.

Get a better comp plan that everyone can understand.

    I worked at AG Salesworks

    Pros

The place is a fun atmosphere. The core group of managers and owners are for the most part good people. As a BDR you really can gain valuable skills through cold hard experience on the phones...cold calling..... which can make you into a valuable commodity at technology companies.

    Cons

Not paid well in comparison to working at other sales or even lead generation positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep it real.
