Former Employee – worked at AIDS Institute
Pros – The mission of the institute is good and they do try to help people in the community.
Cons – No one stays long at the AI's quality management program because they are either fired or they choose to leave. The QM program's senior directors seem to fire staff every few months. They are able to do this because they generally keep new employees on probation for over a year and write a couple of negative reviews when they do not like a staff member. Also, a number of people just leave because of the hostile work environment. By the middle of 2010, nearly half of the QM program staff turned over. This program represents the the worst of government because they retaining some poor performing senior staff while pushing out others who can contribute a lot. This is a personality driven place and you have to fit in and keep your mouth shut, if you want to survive. The NYS DOH or attorney general's office should interview current and former staff if they really want to know what's going on here.
