Cons
Long working hours and average pay (but sometimes that's a good thing).
Advice to Senior Management
keep it up.

Lacking commitment to excellence
No meritocracy, rewards come in next job
Support for successful business is limited by cost-consciousness
Advice to Senior Management
Hire some talented outside management
Invest in hiring and retaining good people
Pros
Decent pay for a co-op.
Cons
As a co-op, got stuck maintaining older products
Advice to Senior Management
Let interns work on interesting things if you want to retain some talent.
Pros
Lots of opportunity to get your hands dirty with different projects
Ability to gain ownership of a project quickly
Co-workers are great
Cons
Some communication issues could be worked on to improve the the working atmosphere and increase productivity. There seems to be too much time spent talking about what needs to get done rather than just doing it.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus more on positive reinforcement for employees. Maybe there should also be some formalization for collaboration among teams so it can be tracked and rewarded.
Pros
Interesting subject matter. Complicated systems
Cons
Confusion, lack of leadership. Felt the need to work long hours
Pros
immense growth opportunities by working in the niche sector and providing solution to the risk associated with insurance and reinsurance
Cons
its a very specific and technical work associated with insurance sector and require immense knowledge about the working of insurance and reinsurance
Pros
Generally those who work very hard do well. There is a lot of value placed on team work and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty. Following these trends helps you win recognition within the company.
Cons
Internal communication channels can lack clarity. Departments are not always interested in working with each other and prefer to push their own agendas. Can be frustrating to locate accountability.
Pros
the type of work is challenging
Cons
a little under pay among a similar company
Pros
1. Decent Pay and Vacation days make it into the pros list of this company.
Cons
1. Politics and not good Benefits are making the con list for this company.
Advice to Senior Management
They are improving
Pros
Great place to learn about catastrophe risk and work on interesting problems
If you’re client-facing you get great exposure to people in the industry
Catastrophe risk management is a growing industry
Down-to-earth, positive CEO is genuinely interested in having a happy company
Cons
Growth in value will not be compensated by growth in pay – you will have to leave AIR and go work for a client to earn what you’re worth
New ideas are hard to get support for and the company fears making a mistake more than it fears not doing something great
Advice to Senior Management
Reward creativity and don't be afraid to throw away the old to make room for the new
Focus on rewarding and retaining talent
Don't have the same employees who were the decision-makers for AIR's current software be the decision-makers for AIR's future software
