    Pros

Family believes in valuing people and did not declare redundancies even during the meltdown of 2009. Second generation is coming in to take charge; glad to see them as absolute professionals with brilliant pedigree. Ambitious plans and should mean more opportunities coming up in the next few years.

    Cons

Decision making is painfully slow and opaque; far from agile as an organization; also suffers from severe incompetency amongst workforce, many of whom are just clocking away their time. Needs to show signs of a progressive organization. Arrogance in larger business units leading to very silo'd mentality and behaviour.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Accountability needs a steriod dose, even if it means shaking up some feathers. Carrot-and-stick is important for achieving the change needed.

    Pros

A very good trait of this organization how people stay long, probably because of its laid back attitude. If not for the crisis, it will still be employing a lot of non-performers.

    Cons

    Too much fan of westerners

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not neglect the people who has stayed long

I have been working at AL Tayer full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company with a Superior Senior Management
Good people around, lots to learn
Finance has one of the better managed people around
Lively work envt and Work Life Balance

    Cons

    Visibility of growth.
IT department has no clue , Consultants keep coming in and IT implementations have actually hurt company big time in terms of ROI on IT. ERP is still getting implemented, I used to not get proper reports from Business Intelligence team which is using all old applications.
Diff of opinions between internal teams, Mid level managers are the sickened part of ATG

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More transparency in all business functions.
Finance, IT , HR , Marketing , Ops should go hand in hand to make company successful
Release few people from IT and Finance who are here since ages and dont get into newer methods of efficiency.
Absorb Consultants to make company profitable than making other consulting companies profitable.
