I worked at ALE Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Family friendly employer, hard work is rewarded, and a good sense of fun. I work there for four years and was always treated with respect. They look for guidance and direction across all levels of the company. You are heard as an individual and your opinion counts. The company holiday party is all out fun and I'll miss not going this year.

    Cons

During peak season it can be very stressful on the job. Management does try to assist but maybe lacks the resources needed to provide support for all the associates. Office dog is maybe a little too cute...

    Advice to Management

Provide more feedback to employees. I was only reviewed once a year.

    Pros

Management supportive in my area. Family like environment and some good times to be had. Satisfaction in being part of helping someone a little in their time of need and relieve their stress in any kind of temporary housing No micromanaging or nit picking. Good benefits.

    Cons

Pay is a bit low for the time you have to put in. Work/life balance can be hard to manage. Management supportive until they are consumed with upper management demands. Better communication is needed between the different areas. Others in some departments can be demeaning and belittling to others which proves to be futile when brought to managements attention

The negative reviews are the accurate reviews. If you have other options, take them.

    Pros

Paid every 2 weeks on Fridays and the checks cleared. Downtown St. Charles is a pleasant area to be in. The people who did attempt to get to know you were nice.

    Cons

There is a HUGE turnover rate for a reason. Mass hiring/firing is the norm. Does not pay earned all PTO when leaving. Very immature staff. Lack of security in building made me very uncomfortable. No elevators in 3 story building. Would not be able to accommodate people with disabilities. Moldy, wet, and cold office space. My department was constantly coughing and sick. Outdated and poorly designed databases that were impossible to work with, constantly crashing systems with no plan to upgrade or change. No one talks to each other. Very strange environment to be in unless you've been with the company since the beginning (which there are only a handful). No headphones allowed, cannot wear a jacket at your desk even though AC was set in the 60's. There were exceptions, depending on who you "were" No one seems to care about anyone. After 6 months, my boss or coworkers knew absolutely nothing about me and seemed to care less about me as a person, even though you were tested and expected to know everything about Management. It goes both ways in good companies. Large egos and Type A personalities are the norm at ALE. If you are a Type B, you will never make it. Benefits are below average and health insurance is expensive.

    Advice to Management

Sell it to or hire someone with experience to run it! A real CEO and Board of Directors instead of just yes-men who watch the owners dog and are afraid to question dumb decisions.Teach management a little humility and empower them to do what's best for the company. Quit trying to go viral and concentrate on fixing your business. Tune down the egos and get in touch with your employees a little better. Invest in your software, you have outgrown the capabilities of your databases. Oh and for the love of God, quit on the Reply to All emails. What a waste of resources and are complete distractions to the job. No professional organization would tolerate that. One email a week celebrating birthdays and anniversaries is more than adequate.

    Pros

Helping others is the best thing about this job.

    Cons

The positive reviews on this site are probably just as fake as the blurbs on the ALE homepage. Turnover is high. You will see e-mails go out about people getting fired and a handful of people quitting on a monthly basis. HR will treat you like royalty when you are hired on, but after that they forget about you. No feedback is given from anyone except clients who seem to be the only ones who care about what you do. That is if they aren't taking their frustration out on you due to their losses. You will meet some good people but management is disorganized. I question the logic behind who they promote and who they choose to fire. Training is horrible. You are told you will get two weeks of quality training. It is very boring and inconsistent. Pay seems ok, but once you start working, you realize quickly that you are underpaid. Micromanagement is not necessary for everyone and is quite annoying. ACT database's ineffectiveness hinders productivity and hide your lunch because even with your name on it someone still might eat it.

    Advice to Management

I like the owners, but ALE as a whole needs to be more transparent. You also cannot expect to be the best service provider without taking care of your people first. After all, you are nothing without your people.

    Pros

Not had a chance to know....

    Cons

Was hired over a month ago to work from my home to help assist with finding temp residences for displaced homeowners. I have yet to get trained. Been shuffled around and the training I have received was a joke. Maybe a couple hours at best. Still have emailed and asked for status on when I can get trained and still no progress...should of listened to the reviews on how this company runs. Wish them luck. Heard they were the largest out there...thinkin that might be hurtin them.

    Advice to Management

    Communication is KEY

    Pros

Good Benefits. Rewarding job helping people find housing when they are displaced. Nice co-workers.

    Cons

The company tends to promote people to management positions with absolutely no management experience, No management training is provided. Managers do not know how to work with their staff to make them better at their jobs, but would rather find ways to fire staff than to train them. Managers in this company play favorites and if yours does not like you they will find any way possible to fire you even if you have given 100 % to your job. Upper management does not seem to recognize what is going on or tends to look the other way. HR often hires people going through divorces so they cannot afford to quit when they are asked to work 10 & 12 hour days and weekends. HR manager has some unscrupulous tactics that could end up in a law suit one of these days.

    Pros

What you do helps people. It also has a very homelike atmosphere with the decor.

    Cons

Management, pay, benefits and politics are absolutely terrible at this company. There is a constant air of anxiety due to the politics. They are religious driven and have no respect for other cultures or ethnicity.

    Advice to Management

It's only a matter of time before someone finally decides to really sue you. The business ethic and abuse to your employees is outrageous. If ever there was an example of workplace bullying ALE has it down. The President/Owner has a God complex and this air trickles down to other branches of her management. Do yourself a favor and keep looking for a place to work and skip ALE.

    Pros

Interview was pretty easy. Facility isn't half bad and is in a nice area with plenty of scenery to look at.

    Cons

Management does not make clear what they expect of you. They kinda just throw you out there after one day of training. Nobody really talks to each other, except the people who have been there longer which is hardly anyone.

    Advice to Management

    Make expectations clear
