    Pros

The coworkers all seem to help one another and work as a team! The best part was how the managers made this a great experience. They were extremely nice and outgoing and always liked for everyone to have fun on the job.

    Cons

    Minimum wage sucked
Part time so the hours aren't great

    Pros

Free movies, all around young atmosphere, very flexible hours, a good amount of employees working at once.

    Cons

    MAJOR hour decrease and cap.
On-Call shifts. You could be scheduled for a theoretical six hour shift that takes calling an hour or two ahead of time to confirm the shift.
Closing shifts could have you closing up until 4 AM on big movie nights.

I have been working at AMC Entertainment part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

-Free popcorn, soda. Not a big deal but feels extra special since customers are paying 5-7 bucks each for the same thing (during scheduled shifts only)
-Free movies (must get manager permission first and must have certain seating availability)
-Relatively easy work. Any competent person could get a firm grasp within one or two days at each position
    -Nice friendly coworkers
-Free AMC stub membership. 12 bucks a year for customers
    -Early employee screenings for movies
    -Working unsupervised (when ushering)
-Flexible schedule. Willing to work around school schedule

    Cons

-Low hours. Everyone caps out at 28 hours since AMC doesn't want to give out benefits. Very random hours, some weeks you get 20 and others you get 5. I see it regularly on the schedule for other employees too
-Low pay: minimum wage. No time and a half or extra pay on holidays or anything like that.
-Open 365 days a week which means possibly working on Thanksgiving or Christmas
    -Weekends are a chaotic disaster
    -Very rude customers
    -Long lines in concession/box office
    -Picking up trash when ushering
-Pressured to up sell already expensive items

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    -Pay more than minimum wage
-Pay time and a half on holidays. It's only a few days out of the year. Shows that you care about your employees
-Don't hire more people when hours are getting spread out thinly already

    Cons

Job can get boring at times, but that comes with the territory.

I worked at AMC Entertainment part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

-Free movies for your family plus one guest
-Free swag that came from move promotions
-Great crew members to work as a team
    -Tons of fun!

    Cons

-At the Glendora theater, the GM at the time did not give any raises to crew members; minimum wage
-Long and weird hours during midnight screenings
-If you worked from 9 PM- 3 AM, you could be scheduled to come in the next day at 9 AM to open
-Lots of pressure from corporation to have better sales; if expectations wasn't met, the person was potentially fired
-Getting days off were difficult; sometimes you were scheduled outside your availability
-Management didn't care for the opinions of the workers
-Expected to work holidays; no time and half for holidays either

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Listen to your crew members and meet their expectations and concerns.

I worked at AMC Entertainment part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Convenient for students in need of flexible schedules, free movies and awesome coworkers. I've made some great friends here and have had some of the most fun with some of them while at work. It's easy to move up within the company if one shows dedication. One of my coworkers got promoted after only 4 months of working there.

    Cons

It's more stressful and disgusting than one would think. Guests can be horrible, mean, dirty and the emphasis on guest connections makes it even worse. Management was so young and in turn could be EXTREMELY immature. Our youngest supervisor was 18 and definitely acted like it. The hours suck, they do what we call "clopening", which is close & then open the next day. My worst experience; a closing Thurs shift, 6:30PM-2:15 AM and then being scheduled to open Friday at 9 AM, not even 7 hours in between shifts and they could "technically" do it b/c they were separate work weeks. EVERYONE works on Christmas which is the WORST b/c its the busiest day of the year w/ NO holiday pay I might add. I was scheduled NINE days straight this past holiday season 12/23-12/31:/ This job completely ruined my sleep. It's been a month since I left and I still can't go to bed earlier than 1 in the morning b/c I closed so much:(

Would only recommend this job to someone who needs flexibility and is VERY young, 16-20 age range otherwise the immaturity and childish nature and guest BS would drive one insane.

    Pros

Free movies at any theater and free ICEEs, drinks, and popcorn.
My coworkers are awesome to work with.

    Cons

Pay, and hours are minimal as long as you're a part time employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better organization within the new employee employment. Definitely consider paying your lower employees more, not $15 an hour, but maybe at least $11 an hour.

I have been working at AMC Entertainment part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

*Free Movies, Help great guests, friendly crew, flexible hours for students, get paid for breaks, great for students who love watching free movies

    Cons

long shifts, hard to move up in industry, it is mandatory to work weekends and holidays without holiday pay, can only work 28 hours or part-time

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay employees more for the work they are doing because crew only make minimum wage for working that hard to take care of tasks that they should know should be paid for their work. For instance, I have put my hard work into AMC and I have not once received appreciation for my hard work. I have been working for the company for nearly three years and I had not had the chance to move up in the industry. I am a phenomenal worker and I learned all the areas within 6 months of working with the industry. I love to learn new things but, once I found out that I would never amount to anything working at a minimum wage company it was hard to stay focused on the job and even harder to like working for the company. And the management are terrible. They do not know how to run a business. They treat the crew terrible and do not appreciate them. It is getting worse and worse dealing with the management who hardly know how to do their job. So, I suggest growing as a company paying crew more for all of their hard work and at least appreciate the little people for keeping your company together as a business because without them, no one would be exceeding.
