    Pros

You get free movies, free popcorn and drinks while on break, and a free Stubs Card. It's a fairly simple job, and can be fun most of the time.

    Cons

Some super late nights, rude customers, and not a very flexible work schedule (in my opinion).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time helping employees and taking care of customers instead of sitting at guest services talking about last nights party. It looks bad on everyone.

I worked at AMC Entertainment part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Flexible scheduling was offered and was important to me as a high school student. Most of my co-workers were also in high school, which made it easier to transition into the job. The management was friendly and always was available to talk about any issues. I was kept busy by the job, as my theater constantly had many guests.

    Cons

Because the theater was busy all the time, the job could become stressful to keep up. There was constant standing, and I would often have sore feet at the end of a shift. Time and a half doesn't exist although being available on holidays was mostly expected.

    Pros

Free tickets. Able to watch movies for free. Can't beat it. especially for someone that would watch anything.

    Cons

Overall, no bad experiences. No raise but it was a part time job and the free movies made up for it.

I worked at AMC Entertainment full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Very collaborative work environment, where co-workers are smart, fun, and friendly (most of the time). Perks are great with the free annual movie passes for yourself and family! Worklife balance is very good.

    Cons

Not very clearly defined goals sometimes by upper management. Somewhat reactive vs. being proactive and planning for long-term. Departments are somewhat siloed at times. Also, if you are focused on career growth, you will need to push this yourself, not very good mentoring programs at corporate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote better inter-department communication to allow more insight into goals and priorities across departments.

It is a pretty good place to work for a high school kid. You get free movies, you meet good people, and its a pretty exciting job.

I worked at AMC Entertainment part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The culture is great--everyone is very welcoming and so nice, and if there are any problems, the managers and supervisors are very willing to help. You get free movies at all times and free drinks and popcorn, plus 50% off food during your shift.

    Cons

You have to have at least two weekdays with open availability, so I rarely got to go out while working here. It only pays minimum wage and there's no time and a half, even on holidays, which they always expect you to work. I ended up quitting because I didn't want to work Christmas Day for minimum wage. Also, they say they do performance evaluations for raises but they rarely actually happen. There's only part time available. It can be very difficult to get people to cover your shifts if you can't make it.

I have been working at AMC Entertainment part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

-Free popcorn, soda. Not a big deal but feels extra special since customers are paying 5-7 bucks each for the same thing (during scheduled shifts only)
-Free movies (must get manager permission first and must have certain seating availability)
-Relatively easy work. Any competent person could get a firm grasp within one or two days at each position
    -Nice friendly coworkers
-Free AMC stub membership. 12 bucks a year for customers
    -Early employee screenings for movies
    -Working unsupervised (when ushering)
-Flexible schedule. Willing to work around school schedule

    Cons

-Low hours. Everyone caps out at 28 hours since AMC doesn't want to give out benefits. Very random hours, some weeks you get 20 and others you get 5. I see it regularly on the schedule for other employees too
-Low pay: minimum wage. No time and a half or extra pay on holidays or anything like that.
-Open 365 days a week which means possibly working on Thanksgiving or Christmas
    -Weekends are a chaotic disaster
    -Very rude customers
    -Long lines in concession/box office
    -Picking up trash when ushering
-Pressured to up sell already expensive items

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    -Pay more than minimum wage
-Pay time and a half on holidays. It's only a few days out of the year. Shows that you care about your employees
-Don't hire more people when hours are getting spread out thinly already
