    Pros

Great long-term strategic plan with excellent management for driving profit. Excellent company if you are an engineer, and a good career company overall (as companies go these days).

    Cons

If you are not an engineer, your career path is more limited. A good business-minded individual without an engineering degree should expect to jump to a new company to get the promotion they deserve.

    Advice to Management

Difficult to give advise when management seemingly pulls all the right levers to maximize profit growth. However, if I'm pressed to offer some advise it would be to look and invest for more longer term opportunities; not all fruit is of the low-hanging variety.

    Pros

They hired 5 interns for the summer. They paid us pretty well ($18 an hour) and let us work overtime if we wanted. Everyone was very friendly to us and always was helpful when we asked questions.

The site I worked at (Aerospace and Defense site that made pressure transducers) was part of cool projects, like building components that went on an astronauts backpack.

    Cons

Moral was very low. The engineers worked like 70 hour work weeks. My superior worked 7 days a week and was very stressed out. When he/she asked for additional help they brought me on as an intern. Any additional help was out of the budget. No one really seemed to crazy about working there. Some of the younger engineers left while I was there. One went to grad school and the other got another job and is a lot happier.

    Advice to Management

You have to spend money to make money. When your employees tell you that they need help repeatedly you need to listen. Also, overtime is ok if it is not 12 hour days seven days a week. Employees cannot produce very effectively if they are exhausted. Also, more money and better benefits.

    Pros

Free Wi-Fi. No enforcement or rules about being on a smart phone all day. Pretty clean.

    Cons

Little if any training, never hear "hello or good job", assembly department employees are forbidden to speak to one another, management seems exempt from the employee handbook as they speak and treat people like dogs, micro management. Prior months turnover is advertised - obvious HIGH turnover!

    Advice to Management

They profess increasing employee moral is a "goal". Clean house, replace management with people who'll appreciate the workers.

    Pros

Good amount of PTO and paid holidays.

    Cons

Very poor opportunities from within, "Good Old Boy network" do not foster a positive, progressive environment. Antiquated process', do not utilize systems available to them. Stagnate environment.

    Advice to Management

Clean house, get new innovative managers who have a progressive vision for the company. Results driven people who are measured for their efforts and accomplishments. Get out of the 80's business model.

    Pros

Overall it is a nice close knit atmosphere. Things can get hectic at times but everyone works well together. A good diverse group of people.

    Cons

The management is poorly organized. Most of the directors are very short sighted. Workloads are either very light or very heavy.

    Pros

Good people, knowledgeable and friendly, good pay. Won't hesitate to let you off early if weather is bad or before a holiday, with pay.

    Cons

Supervisor is a jerk most of the time. Micromanages and butts into everyone else's conversation. Never listens to anything anyone else has to say. Needs a class in management.

    Advice to Management

Please get the supervisor of the test department some management classes. He needs to learn how to train and lead without overstepping his boundaries.

    Pros

    Good pay and clean place

    Cons

This review is for the work place in Mt Prospect for future assemblers. If you want to work here you have to be willing to take a whole lot of rubbish. They don't train you properly. The work books are out-dated and unhelpful. You will be trained by one person and be told by the next person that you are doing it wrong. If you need help from the engineer, they ignore you. People on the test line don't give you the paper work review stating what you may have done wrong on the machine you build. They are supposed to show it to you and you are supposed to sign it. Anything you mess up on is not brought up to you, it goes straight to your supervisor. You are hardly consulted about anything. If you mess up you are out the door with a call from your temp service. You aren't given a chance. Let's not forget language barriers. There are a few people who can speak proper English. The test line workers communicate only with other full-time employees on YOUR machine to fix it if there is a problem. Don't ever go to HR for help either, they don't care about your issues. They favor they're full time employees so they can make the company more money. If you have an issue with a full time employee, you will be let go even if it's not your fault. OH and let's not forget that no one there does their job. You will assemble and do quality control for them and whatever else they don't feel like doing. They never update stock and you end up sitting there with your thumb up your buns waiting for 5 different parts at a time.

    Advice to Management

    Communicate with one another.
