    I worked at ANSYS full-time

    Pros

Ability to engage in advanced technologies and learn about simulations in multiple industries.

    Cons

As a public company, sometimes investors' pressure causes more pressure on employees to divert the focus solely on short-term sales, this can become discouraging for highly-skilled engineers with advanced degrees.

    Advice to Management

better plan and assist in career planning and growth of employees, provide a balance of short term activities and long-term initiatives.

    Pros

If you are passionate about Engineering, this could be a best company to work for. They have some of the best engineers and technologists working in the field. Wonderful compensation and work life balance. Matured and a safe organization to work for.

    Cons

Sometimes the work gets tedious and less interesting. Also the pace of work is a little slow and feels like a lots of bureaucracies.

    Advice to Management

Make the workplace a little interesting and challenging. Have a more collaborative environment and encourage cross team communication. Make the work environment conducive to innovation.

I worked at ANSYS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

ANSYS is the typical midwest based engineering firm. Treat you really well , good benefits but base pay is low. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to be a part of a growing organization which treats you like a person, despite the size.

    Cons

Pay is lower than industry standard. Growth was pretty stagnant on the engineering side.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up.

    Pros

Can build expertise in many areas (problem modelling, preprocessing tools, solvers, various models, postprocessing etc), and have access to various applications in the industry such as energy, process, oil and gas, automotive etc.

    Cons

Only work on short term problems/projects. So, the expertise can be developed in width, but not sufficient in depth. Work may be trivial sometimes.

    Advice to Management

It might be important to encourage the employees to develop continuously in addition to doing the core tasks. The personal development can also benefit the company a lot in the long run.
