I worked at APG full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Work for one of the pension giants in the world
    - Global company with strong Dutch identity
    - World class employees
    - Stable management
    - Long tenure

    Cons

    - Poorly executed M&A caused loss of identity
    - Still not a one company one mind set
    - Restructuring destroyed value
    - Minimum career opportunities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of the work-force, the real value of the company lies in its people - especially in a focused area such as pensions and asset management. The shake-out took place lets hope that the demographic changes will not play early catch up.

    Doesn't Recommend

    I worked at APG

    Pros

Work is compared to other asset management organisations relaxed, especially in the back office. The holiday compensation was really good, nothing compared to the US. With some negotiations it was possible to level up salary and/or holidays with over time.

    Cons

The environment is not high competitive and the growing options are in my perspective limited, it is possible to move on to the FO to get more insight but in the BO it is fairly quiet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would recon that the integration of stuff needs to be improved. The working conditions are good. There must be a competition going on, higher targets and a better development, integration process.
