    Great commission pay scale

    Sales Representative (Former Employee)
    Provo, UT

ProsPure meritocracy, you are payed 100% according to what you deserve. Only 4 months of work but during those 4 months a person can make multiple times what he or she would otherwise make in a year, especially if still in school full time. Even 10 or 20 times more. The sky is the limit if you are good at it and work hard.

ConsIt's hard work, gives up most normal "fun" a college summer experiences for 4 difficult months of work.

    Great Expeirence

    Sales Representative (Current Employee)
    Provo, UT

ProsGreat income potential. It is straight commission so you must be able to handle that, but the income opportunities are amazing. You work for 4 months per year and can make $0, or i have seen people make over $150,000 in their own commissions not including any management overrides.

ConsSome sales managers aren't prepared for the job. APX will allow anyone who has proven themselves as a salesman and can recruit a team of salesman to be a sales manager. Not all good salesman and recruiters make good sales managers.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagers need more management training. They are all great salesman or they wouldn't have the position.

Best home security sales company to work for...

    Sales Representative (Former Employee)

ProsVery good management from upper to office , good teamwork, interesting and motivating training, fun work atmosphere (in my office anyway), get to travel during the summer and see different states, good compensation for time put in, allows you to go to school during "off season", ability to make more money in 4 months than in a whole year without much education required you just have to work hard

Cons-since you are a contract/commissioned employee, no real benefits
-pretty intense work 6/days a week, 10 hour days during the hot summer months
    - satisfying work atmosphere could depend on your manager/co workers

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep treating your employees well, keep having great customer service and making sure the reps are trained properly w/ an emphasis on integrity/honesty on the doors...APX is pretty much everything the company I came from wasn't, which is a good thing

Excellent opportunity for those in or recently graduated from college.

    Sales Representative (Current Employee)

ProsGreat pay. Work with a lot of great people. Allows those with little work experience to prove themselves in the work place.

ConsNormally will be necessary to relocate for the four to five month period. Long days. Long weeks. Can become redundant.

Advice to Senior ManagementI think you are doing a fa-nominal job. This will be my fifth year with APX and have been very grateful for this opportunity.

Great training for life skills, requiring a lot of self motivation and unsupervised hard work.

    Sales Representative (Former Employee)
    Charleston, SC

Pros100% commission, so it's possible to make a great deal of money. This job allows you to manage yourself and determine your own success. It's possible to earn enough during the summer to support yourself during the school year. Most sales reps get to take 8 months off every year.

ConsSaturday is the longest day, usually about 12 hours. In order to do well, you really need to commit to working every single day (except Sundays) for about 4 months, without taking any vacation. Because it's 100% commission, it is possible to work hard all week and not earn anything, although that was a very rare thing in most offices.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Good pay for a summer job as a student.

    Customer Support Representative (Former Employee)

    ProsDepending on the department,
Customer service department was more lenient when it came to being a couple minutes late, working overtime, and you got to know your co-workers more. There were incentives, and some were random, e.g. you're on time to your 7am shift, and you get a $10 target gift card. Company parties are great, it's pretty fun. Customer service is a difficult department, and can be very stressful. For this reason, I think it's a bit more lenient and understanding.

ConsData entry department was ridiculously strict and you don't get to know anyone. You're 5 seconds (literally) late and you get written up for it. No incentives except for stupid games or trivia questions. Your higher ups are often incompetent and only there because they work full time meaning longer than 3 months (which is also when benefits kick in). Most employees are students, and therefore cannot move up, have to deal with these people, and don't get benefits.

Advice to Senior ManagementEqualize the departments a little more, and don't be so strict. Looking at break times will help alleviate write-ups and concerns. If an employee is less than a minute late from break, take that into consideration. As much as one can try, they can't sync their watch/phone completely to the computer and suffer as a consequence.

    Great place to work.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Provo, UT

    ProsGreat benefits.
    Flexible work schedule.
Eat free at the in-house cafe.
    Massages.
    Friendly people.
Can advance in the company even at a young age.
Above average pay for the area.
    Encourage creativity

ConsIf you work in the call center you will deal with angry people other than that working in other departments is great.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep changing and focusing more on customers and being customer friendly then getting sales.
