Pros
There is flexibility in location and divisions of the company. There is a large network to exchange information and ideas which is helpful. They have an expert for everything or they have consulted with an expert and the information is typically available.
Cons
It's a large company easy to feel like a number depending on the position. The compensation could be better - staff hired directly by a client makes more that ARAMARK is willing to pay, most of the time. Some big wigs may have forgotten what it is like to work in the field and the expectation when they add additional tasks is unreasonable because time precious.
Advice to Senior Management
Show your employees that they are a great supporting cast. Show the employees that corporate listens to what they have to say and wants to work to make resolutions. Pay your employees competitively even if it affects the profit because the employees performance.
Pros
Steady hours
Formal business environment
Great people to work with
High turnover
Cons
Lack of creativity
Senior Management may be jaded
Impossible financial goals to reach
Very corporate
Pros
Good benefits and decent pay
Cons
Large corporation that is completely numbers driven.
Pros
Great Benefits; Great training; Career development program
Cons
Regional Senior Management is not trustworthy
Pros
Work Life balance is ideal: I've never seen a better place from that aspect
Lower level management is always willing to listen
With the team I'm on, there is plenty of work and it seems to be growing
Cons
Management listens but nothing ever seems to get done; a big show is made of Employee Satisfaction complete with a Gallop Poll survey, but that's where it ends
The compensation is below average
Zero recognition or employee appreciation
Advice to Senior Management
Bring the compensation up to market standards and stop complaining about the National Healthcare Plan causing problems for Aramark. If you have the money to travel all over the country, surely you have the money to show some appreciation to the employees by having a lunch once in a while.
Pros
Lot of growth opportunities, has operations in lot of different business.
Cons
lots of professional occupation are limited at head office
Pros
many opportunities to advance higher up or to other locations.
Cons
Lots of confusion between upper management.
Advice to Senior Management
Have one decision maker
Pros
The internship was not what i thought it was going to be. i was interested in the marketing side, however, it was mostly a sales internship. The people were very friendly and always willing to help. Top management always informed us of what was going on. Very friendly environment!
Cons
I worked in the university, therefore, there was little opportunity for advancement. Was told we were going to get commission for each sale, but never got anything.
Advice to Senior Management
Should be straightforward with what the internship is really about. Although I did enjoy working there, i probably wouldn't have spent my entire summer working on sales.
Pros
Great deal of responsibility if you seek for it. Great professional relationships developed.
Cons
Work life balance. Work holidays.
Advice to Senior Management
Implement more technology.
Pros
Good money. I guess if you stay on board for about 10 years you could move up. There are guys that I work with that a re 5 years in with no hope for promotion.
Cons
Long hours and little time off. Have to work paid holidays. If the contract is big enough it doesn't matter what day it is you'll be working. No time off in 3 years
Advice to Senior Management
Be mire attentive to your employees. Pay them attention or you will find yourself doing the peoples jobs that you want no part of.
