Advice to Senior Management
Listen more to staff thoughts and opinons. Be more flexiful with hours and days. Use feedback to improve the other all qulity.
Pros
Offers internship opportunities to high school and college students
Cons
Pay is not competitive and they treat you like you should be thankful to have a job
Advice to Senior Management
Invest more time in current managers and try promoting form within
Pros
work/life balance-average 45 hr work week
intelligent, large law firm trained colleagues
flexibility in hours
autonomy in work
salary is competitive
Cons
health benefits are pretty bad- you will be paying out of pocket for at least a percentage of medical services
lack of communication from legal managers
personalities of some colleauges- arrongant, pompous
Advice to Senior Management
Better communication is necessary at all levels of organization. Get better sales people-- the sales people are can be difficult to work with-- just want the deal done regardless of the level of risk.
Pros
Opportunities to advance one's career are abundant; however, I believe some of the beauracracy that exits in pursuing advancement need to be eliminated!
Cons
Sometimes financials become the focal point instead of leveraging strategic partnerships through consistent performance.
Advice to Senior Management
If financial responsibilities are the hallmark of Aramark, then more training should be devoted to manager competency in this arena.
Pros
Free Lunch
FlexibleHours
Good work environment
Food Service director was good to work for
Offered healthy food choices for lunch and breakfast
Cons
Co-workers not too friendly
Hot workplace
All Chiefs and no Indians
Delivery of food needs to be coordinated better
Things should be fixed on time
Advice to Senior Management
Aramark was not a bad place to work. But it all depends on what part of aramark you are working for.
Pros
great benes, nice working conditions
Cons
My manager - difficult & contradictory - upper management was aware, but did nothing about it
Pros
The people you work with are fantastic. Some of my lifelong friends have been made by working in different ARAMARK groups.
Cons
The company has multiple business units that are managed and act as if each is its own silo. It is hard to break down these barriers.
Advice to Senior Management
I would recommend that the walls that have formed around each line of business be broken down in order that the teams communicate the best practices with one another.
Pros
I worked with the greatest people I have met to date, very supportive.
Cons
Very little room for advancement in a clear consice manner.
Advice to Senior Management
Take advantage of the people who work for you and provide more opportunities for advancement at all levels of the organization, not just Senior Level Management. You may be surprised of the many talented individuals you have working for you without management titles.
Pros
Huge company, large number of opportunities
Cons
regardless of efforts and profitability at lower levels, no visibility to decision from the top
Advice to Senior Management
If cutbacks required, keep folks taht are producing, not folks that have been around longer for time's sake.
Pros
Great place to gain experience in management, budgeting, HR, and inventory management. One can choose to work in any of the Lines of Business that the company has. Opportunities are endless for a choice in job type and as far as location. Somone could work in practically any State or almost any country that they choose. ARAMARK is a global company.
Cons
All mid-level management is expendable. Sometimes it would seem that if one is not apart of a certain group then one could be just another employee. ARAMARK could do a better job at giving its managers training opportunities that could lead to higher career opportunities. It seems as if the company does not pay managers what they are worth, the company tries to get as low as they can with salaries so as to beef up the bottom line.
Advice to Senior Management
ARAMARK places a lot of emphasis on its People Pillar. At times, it seems as if the "People" they are referring to are hourly staff; mid-level management tends to be lost in the shuffle.
