Pros
Had a great boss and had a lot of latitude.
Cons
Wasn't reviewed in 4 years. No position above mine to advance to. Retirement plan for Band 4-5 was a non-qualified plan.
Pros
Time off is permitted most of the time
Cons
pay is below industry standard
Advice to Senior Management
pay your people better
Pros
The pay was decent and some of the co-workers were fantastic. Contract foodservice is very fast paced and no two days were the same.
Cons
It's a contract management situation. Your future could be decided on your relationship with the client. If the environment is union that will make the day to day operation very challenging.
Advice to Senior Management
Please provide front line management better support working at the locations. The client often times enjoy an unfavorable advantage in the relationship. They sometimes make working at the locations more challenging than need be.
Pros
Aramark is a great place to work if you are a student or part-time employee because the hours are very flexible. The compensation is fair for the work required and the lower-level management tends to be very approachable and considerate when an employee desires to move up within the location.
Cons
It is very hard to get a raise once you hit a certain hourly wage and pay-rates are not equal for similar titles/job requirements across stores. For instance, a cashier at one location may be at $7.75, while a cashier at another is at $9.00, having the same level of experience.
Advice to Senior Management
Lower-level management is on par. Upper-management needs to have better communication with lower-level management and be more available.
Pros
Job Security, medical care, people are nice, relax. It's a good job for people who want to retire or house wife who just want to earn a stable and secured income.
Cons
Poor middle level management. Poor technology ( we were using some old printing and cutting machines from the 70s!) Lack of training.
Advice to Senior Management
More career opportunities. More 360 degree evaluations. Channels of communicating to upper level management. More employee training should be provided.
Pros
Seems to have opportunities. Good benefits. Regarded.
Cons
Political. Gaming. Opportunities are not fully explained, nor is the process of advancement/feedback.
Advice to Senior Management
Developing your people could enrich the corporate culture and attitude.
Pros
The people that I worked with
Cons
Management does not allow voice to be heard
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees, you might save some money
Pros
I was originally hired with Aramark Aviation Services and the unit that I worked for was amazing! Great Quality of Life, Great Opportunities, Great Interaction with Senior Management. Aramark decided to pull out of the Aviation industry and I was offered a position in our Business and Logistics division running a warehouse for our Amtrak account. It is complete chaos, aboslutely no communication, management required to work 6 days beacuse of short staff with absolutely no COMP Time compensation. You will be scheduled to come in for your assigned shift lets say from 12-9pm and then you are told you need to work your shift and come back at 4am to open up the warehouse. It is rediculous. Absolutely no communication between senior management and mid management. It is horrible.

Advice to Senior Management
You need to provide quality of life ot your employees otherwise they are going to get burnt out.
Pros
Flexible schedule, relaxed work environment,
Cons
Lack of structure, little to no part-time benefits
Pros
Peer respect, benefits, working hours were beneficial to living a semi-normal life, really developed a rapport with the clients and other chefs
Cons
never felt respected by middle management, had to perform culinary miracles that went against basic culinary training, given reviews but no raises in compensation, only more responsibility!
Advice to Senior Management
respect ALL of your employees, pay more for experience and education! Promote those that demonstrate expertise in subject matter and willingness to adapt to their environment!
