I have been working at ARAMARK part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Working with coworkers who understand you and want to work together.Training is always available, good managers who are even keel and have a professional attitude when approaching a problem. Weather it's equipment or people, has a proactive approach to solve it.

    Cons

Inconsistent coworkers, who call off or won't cooperate with rest of team. Makes work harder to keep up with. Depending on area of work and patient load, we have to try to be ready for anything that's happens.

I worked at ARAMARK full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The ARAMARK philosophy on training employees is unsurpassed. They take the time and the money to train their employees properly. The people who work for this company are wonderful. There are many 20+ year employees. That says something about a company. A great company to grow with. I started as an Office Manager and in five years I was an Environmental Services Director. I had planned on retiring from ARAMARK but due to circumstances beyond my control I don't currently work for ARAMARK. I keep looking for openings because I truly believe this is one of the best corporations in the world and a great place to work!

    Cons

ARAMARK is losing business to competitors who underbid them. I have seen this first hand having worked for one of the competitors that came in after ARAMARK. Salaries were cut, positions were cut - bottom line quality suffered.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at ARAMARK full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Lots of accounts around Phoenix. Plenty of places to transfer to and learn new roles.
    Good opportunities to move up.

    Cons

Never heard company values, if they even exist for this company.
Local management has quite a bit of sway, which can be a good or a bad thing. Performance and results are pitted against how your manager feels about you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There was relatively little accountability between my manager and his boss. I was okay with him hiring his cousin as a dishwasher at the same rate I was being paid. I did not like having to do my job and the dishwasher's job while they watched youtube videos in the office or went to 2 hour lunches together. Especially since our rush period was the lunch period.

Also, I didn't mind having the manager leaving for a day at a time to pursue an affair. We got more work done on those days. I did not like him offering to find a mistress for myself or the other cook.

I have been working at ARAMARK full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

health insurance, payed vacation, room for promotions.

    Cons

at times can be dis-organized. Where I work you have a top pay. But some workers make less and do more of the work. Not an even work distribution.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Gave an idea to save the company money for grease removal. Nothing was said from the company for an employee who does care about money savings. But on the other foot I care in hopes that the more the company would save that my pay might go up. If I am topped out at my pay then why do other cooks make three dollars more on the hour than I do. I do the same work or more than one. Soon if the cost of Insurance goes up I will not be able to afford to live or I will be forced to give up my insurance.
