    I worked at ARAMARK full-time

    Pros

team members in the field very dedicated to customer service and many go above and beyond, despite low pay. At the core, the strong customer focused culture is still there which, ultimately, is why the company is successful.

    Cons

Lots of change since the new CEO came on board a couple of years ago. Eric Foss came in with a lot of energy and promises that the front line employees will come first. Despite these claims and that there would be changes that would allow more focus on the customers and less on internal paperwork/reporting, this hasn't occurred. Additionally there has been a lot of headcount reduction both in support roles and in the field which puts even more pressure on the people doing the work in the field. New leadership is driving lots of change and while some of it is long overdue, it's not going as smoothly as being reported up the line or to investors. And, despite the company having "record years" in sales and profits since Eric took over, annual increases continue to be capped at 2% max for all employees (regardless of annual review rating) and it has been like this for several years. There is an increasing feeling in the field that what the new CEO promised hasn't materialized and that that he is more style than substance. He also surrounds himself with former Pepsi people (he came from Pepsi) who are not as knowledgeable about the business as they think they are

    Advice to Management

Start rewarding the people in the field who take care of the customers, collect the revenue and make the profit by shelving the 2% increase cap. Put in a stock incentive program for all employees, not just the executives. And be open minded to feedback from people that were with Aramark prior to Foss's arrival -- sure, some people are resistant to change, but not everyone is resistant to change -- there is a tendency by Eric's "guys" to look down their noses at the non-Pepsi folks and that doesn't create a great sense of team.

    Pros

The workplace is diverse; there is a chain of command that works effectively in facilitating orders in a timely manner.

    Cons

There isn't enough incentive for working such a emotionally engaging job.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees and offer positive reinforcements to those that deserve it.

I worked at ARAMARK full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I was given many different opportunities to do different things, work on my own, and receive career development and training.

    Cons

I was working as a part of three different teams at the same time with varying priority so it became untenable.

    Advice to Management

Recognize high performers and backfill their old jobs!

    I worked at ARAMARK full-time

    Pros

Very large company with many opportunities throughout the US and the world. There is also a good sense of work/life balance with opportunities to work remotely.

    Cons

The company is going through a lot of change right now; which means a lot of restructuring and lay-offs. The culture is very cutthroat and everybody is only out for themselves. Furthermore, there is no objective process for promotions and development leading to a lot of nepotism and favoritism throughout the organization. Additionally, communication is a big weakness at Aramark; the company does not communicate openly and honestly to its employees. For a company claiming to be in the "people business" they often treat employees as a necessary evil instead of a true asset to the business.

I worked at ARAMARK full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They have a great on-boarding/immersion program for management at the administratively level. Aside from this, this has to be the worst company I have ever worked for.

    Cons

The company is not responsive to the changing nature of business, to client needs, nor to worker's rights. I have never dreaded going to work until this job. My staff was the only thing that kept me sane. If you've ever wanted to work somewhere where they don't invest in their employees, where your feedback is not solicited, where collaboration is not encouraged, where senior management is solely top-down in their approach, where senior management is only in their roles because all the good employees left years ago, where racist and bigoted bosses are allowed to continue their unethical and illegal ways, where staff is treated like they are replaceable, where 60-65 hours a week is the norm, where change is prohibited, then this is the job for you!

    Advice to Management

My advice to management was sent to them in a very clear, concise packet that fully articulated what needs to be done. I never received a response.
