    Pros

Worked in a fun environment; met lots of different customers and clients from across the world.
Hosted many interesting events, e.g. - formal university dinners and graduations, government speakers, Fortune 500 companies.
Ability to be creative in designing some of the events.
The F&B management team was very strong and had each other's backs.

    Cons

Long, long hours. Sometimes would work 16 hour days back-to-back-to-back. While that wasn't the norm, it wasn't unusual to work 9 hours and then get a call that your bartender wasn't coming in and no other servers who could bartend were available, so you must stay.

Compensation was very low for hours spent working.

Annual raise and review process was not very fair in my opinion. Even with a good review, you only get a tiny percentage of a raise and there's no room for negotiation.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people enough to reflect the energy and time that they put into the job. Particularly reward the staff who are the main people interacting with customers during events as that's what customers remember (how they were treated and by whom).

Provide more additional learning opportunities and room for growth to managers. It was easy to get bored in this job less than a year in, and I think having some sort of leadership or rotational program (e.g. - visiting a different property) would help with that.

    Pros

    Big company with transfer opportunities

    Cons

They burn 'em and turn 'em. Don't care about burning out their lower management because there is always a new batch waiting

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees as humans, not just a uniform/labor cost
