    I worked at ARAMARK

    Pros

Some good people unfortunately work there.

    Cons

Entirely based on nepotism. Management is utterly clueless, unrealistic, and changes strategies every 15 minutes.

I worked at ARAMARK full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Peers and client were typically wonderful. Opportunities to make money are huge.

    Cons

Upper management misleads managers concerning available labor, equipment and support. Employees on all levels quit or were fired often. I was the 3rd catering manager in less than a year. I am one of many that received empty promises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you would provide quality equipment and adequate labor, any manager with 5 years experience could run a unit successfully.

Why wouldn't you? An ethical manager will leave without that support.

I have been working at ARAMARK full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I'm searching my memory banks to think of some pros but I cannot come up with anything. The only good things about the job are the clients and my coworkers. They are awesome and friendly and great teachers for someone who started with no kitchen experience a couple of years ago. However, these are not a result of Aramark. These people could be in any location in any company and I would love them still.

    Cons

The immediate management has no clue as to what the day to day duties of the employees are. They berate and harass us, but have never tried to help. They claim to care about the employees but only ever ridicule us and look out for themselves.

Above all, the compensation for the amount of work is horrible. With only a 2% annual raise, the amount of work and extra stress put on us by management is not worth it.

Oh and I should mention the 2% annual raise is BASED ON MERIT!! In other words, if they can think of any reason whatsoever to not give you the raise, they will do it. I watched a coworker get his raise rejected because he didn't possess the necessary knife skills.....but this man almost never needed a knife for his position!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to deal with employees personally. Ask questions rather than jump to conclusions and take time to learn the positions so you know what the employees go through on a daily basis.

I have been working at ARAMARK full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I feel what it most interesting about working for Aramark in a school facility is the opportunity to meet all types of individuals and the chance to work as a team effort employee.

    Cons

The most challenging thing about working for aramark is the challenge in putting your meals out in a timely manner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think that there is not enough merit for those employees who go above and beyond the call of duty. Management does not recognize the good works received from the employees at Aramark and I have never been in a work place where there is no recognition to the employee of the month. I think there should be more appreciation to those employees who go the extra mile when working in different positions.

I worked at ARAMARK full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Most salaried positions will allow you to work all over the country because of the spread of ARAMARK. There is a lot of work to do and you will be paid and receive bonuses, but overall the industry is not the best for someone looking to settle down or be competitive for salary.

    Cons

Long hours, lack of competitive salary, and going to the most remote locations in the States and Canada.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to listen to employees who have ideas about how to improve work!
