They do not value their employees. Feels like working at a sweatshop.

I have been working at ARAMARK Uniform and Career Apparel full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Weekly salary. Monday to Friday work schedule and weekends off.

    Cons

Overworked employees. So much to do but the company is not willing to pay for overtime. They pressure their employees to do more work in the little time they give but when you make a mistake from rushing your work, it's all one you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not make your employees feel like they are woking at a sweatshop.

    Pros

Decent basic sales training. Good for entry level salespeople.

    Cons

Management of Sales, Service, Accounting and Plant Operations are not on the same page...and often have conflicting goals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote/Hire Sales Managers that actually have a sales background.

I have been working at ARAMARK Uniform and Career Apparel full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Can make good money if you get in the right situation. That's about it.

    Cons

Benefits seem to decline each year. Culture has turned toxic. Trust is non-existent. Support from management is worse. It seems every member of management is burned out by the constant stress from corporate and overwhelming workload. Disorganization is widespread. Customer service is a joke. Product shortages are wide spread. Training is nearly non-existent. Merchandise quality has declined since 2007. This company uses your good name and integrity to trick customers into long term contracts, shoddy merchandise and outrageous price increases. In the last year or so, it's really started to make me sick working here. I'm leaving as soon as I find something else. When you can no longer do the totally unethical things this company basically requires you to do, it's time to move on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go find a tall bridge, and jump. You have successfully taken a company that, in the 90s and early 2000s was a leader in the industry and driven it down to one of the worst in the industry.

I worked at ARAMARK Uniform and Career Apparel full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Best and only reason is the paycheck doesn't bounce. (At least not yet).

Also, you will have great job security because nobody wants to work for Aramark.

    Cons

You are expected to do everything. You will collect from customers who hold out payments due to frustrating contract terms and multiple crazy off-cycle price increases.

If you're looking for a career in the Mafia, this is a great company to get training on threats, stealing money, overworking employees, and how to sue people.

If you're looking for an honest company to start a career with, please do not accept an offer with Aramark.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

sell the company to UniFirst. They are much more ethical and deserve to have your customers.

I have been working at ARAMARK Uniform and Career Apparel full-time

    Pros

There were several good coworkers that I had a chance to interact with. Pay was good over time. It took a little while to get it there

    Cons

Company has no respect for family time. Your are expected to live the job. Be prepared to have the cell phone on around the clock, weekends and vacations. Turnover is unbelievable. Everyone is looking over their shoulder to see if they are next.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should first understand the jobs you are managing. Your vision seems to be about 2 months down the road. You are building a cover your butt environment that does not foster creativity

I worked at ARAMARK Uniform and Career Apparel full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

You will learn to become a better hunter and closer, because if you don't they will fire you.

    Cons

-commissions take forever to pay out
-commission scale is extremely difficult to actually reach decent commission levels
-redundancy in sales contracts- customers sign several docs, then you have to spend countless hours doing paperwork on each account
-management tends to shirk all responsibility. You literally have to beg them to do their job so you can get paid

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you would worry about taking care of us, we would stop looking for a new job and start taking care of you.

    Pros

Great pay and able to promote if your willing to move.

    Cons

Managing 30 to 40 % price increases every year and having to manage retaining the business. Company talks about integrity and being ethical yet they demand 22% Loss & Ruin charges on all accounts. Training is on the go and you get trained by being a self taught person.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of your customers and learn to manage to long term business goals and not short term by increasing price 4 times a year. Go back to what made the company sucessful which is sales contests and growing the business not reducing customer base by 10% and increase price to grow.
