    I worked at ARRIS full-time

    Pros

Nice PTO plan, some team environments, nice break room amenities, local activity committee activities.

    Cons

"Good ol' boy" management at HQ in Atlanta. Not enough oversight at remote locations. Company notoriously acquires new companies only to run them into the ground and ruin them.

    Advice to Management

Pull your heads out of the sand and open your eyes. You need to know what is really going on in this company.

I worked at ARRIS full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good salary Good java domain projects Technically competitive people. Lot of learning. Not bad if u want to learn and grow.

    Cons

You will get some of the most uneducated ,poorly speaking managers here. Politics in every action of the managers and senior manager. As they are technically handicapped they will show off like working 18 hrs day to cover up that. Some managers even has bad communication skill but they are the favorites of management because of high buttering and politics. Some technically good engineers are having pathetic team spirit as they think they are above all . Sometimes one feels like old home age.

    Advice to Management

stop the politics. Do not encourage these politically motivated managers . Stop the buttering .

    Pros

Leadership uphold the highest moral standards making it feel like a family even though the company has grown to over 5000 people.

    Cons

Not enough has been done after the major acquisitions to streamline the business. There is still room for operational improvement.

    Advice to Management

Continue to execute the business but don't be afraid to trim off more of the branches.

  11. Good pay for hard work

    Pros

ARRIS pays well with a good salary and benefits. You will work hard, but you are compensated for your efforts, but like most companies these days... we are all being asked to do more with less.

    Cons

ARRIS is very conservative and it is definitely a Southern Boys Club. Not a lot of women in upper level and executive management positions and it really is about "who you know".
