I have been working at ARRIS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good peer culture. Teams work well together.

    Cons

Management, poor decision making. No attention towards staff and needs. Provide no feedback for improvement. Confidentiality does not exist.

    Advice to Management

Start investing in your employees. Reward jobs well done. Partner with those who report to you. Keep confidential matters - confidential. (HR, Team Managers, Directors, VP) - Build people, don't keep them down.

    Great company with good benefits.

    Cons

New management brought in during merger proved to be unprofessional and not trustworthy. Perhaps the worst experience in my career.

I worked at ARRIS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Overall, I believe management has good intentions regarding employee satisfaction - but intent only takes you so far.

    Cons

Lousy raises despite being a top performer. People in upper management based on tenure and not skills, experience, or management abilities.

    Advice to Management

    Clean house and start fresh.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at ARRIS full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    - Relaxed, 9-to-5 work environment, unchallenging - Decent pay and benefit structure - In many organizations, minimal effort can assure you years of interrupted employment

    Cons

There is no further innovation occurring at ARRIS. It has been so long since ARRIS has brought a truly new product to market (not just an incremental modification to a previous one), most at the company have forgotten how to do it. After all the acquisitions, there is no prevailing culture of innovation - just a gobbledygook of leftover processes that are followed for reasons unknown. A bloat of middle management that has arrived in their positions via acquisition and now impedes the career advancement of achieving employees.

    Advice to Management

Develop a culture and team that can build new products, especially software-driven ones. Grow from within. Take risks on building products which may fail. The cable vendor business built around set-top sales is ending; everyone seems to understand that except you.

I have been working at ARRIS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Rapid growing company - have tripped value in the last 3 years. Have a breadth of products with high market share.

    Cons

Groups are Silos and they hardly interact with each other. Hierarchical based company. Average work culture

    Advice to Management

More interactions between groups is required. All employees must feel they are part of the system - involve them more and guide them on the company vision and strategy

I have been working at ARRIS full-time

    Pros

Working in development, one can learn a lot regarding latest technologies. Very good team spirit and working environment.

    Cons

HR works only for senior management. Does not care for junior to mid-level employees.Senior management has no regard for long standing employees. Only profit margins matter to them. With the latest Pace acquisition, not sure where everything is headed.
