    Pros

Was able to work independently in a Branch environment. Learnt heaps, and was great to set up a network of clients. Able to meet most targets, and gain incentives.

    Cons

Extremely hard to get a good raise especially when the culture seems to revolve around targets only. Even when one KPI is exceeded by a mile and a half, it still doesn't matter. Managers do not seem to be able to see the bigger picture, and relationship with clients is secondary to selling of products.

    Advice to Management

Focus on relationship building and look at the bigger picture. I worked at a much bigger bank before ASB, and still, the branch manager at the time thought he knew it all.

    Pros

Good place to start a banking career. Wide network nation wide, as well as presents opportunities in Australia

    Cons

Management was stiff. Do no promote from within employees tend to move a lot horizontally rather than vertically. Low pay in comparison with other banks.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the work environment a bit rather than just the customer side. Employees need to be kept happy and motivated and this begins with management.

    Pros

Management is happy to allow movement for personal development. Including within and among departments.

    Cons

No complaints as an employer. Only issue could be the smaller market share.

    Pros

The culture and focus on people is generally very good, relative to other professional environments I have experienced. Great new head office, work life balance encouraged

    Cons

Learning and development lack in certain areas, and management ineffectual. Pay on the low side, but that comes with the smaller of the big 4 banks in nz

    Pros

Iif you are a sales person, you will find it easier than other co workers to develop your career.

    Cons

Working as customer service officer, especially at a 7 day branch that opens on most public holidays and working on rotating roster makes it difficult to balance work-life, also going through same topic every morning for two years, it is not motivating at all but puts you off completely. No chance of career development if you are not in top 30, also the sales pressure gets worse and worse, more demanding but hard to get pay rise.

    Advice to Management

take more care in your staff and provide proper training on each staff

    Pros

Good culture, work ethics, career growth, friendly employees, good cafeteria and gym, change roles, non cash benefits, banking benefits

    Cons

None as I can see all you need is talent to get into the company and then grow

    Pros

Great people who are passionate about their job. Good work life balance and career prospects.

    Cons

No scope to "catch up" in terms of remuneration if you come in at a "development" level. The only way to improve your salary prospects is to get a promotion.

    Pros

Great people, able to move teams without experience in the new field. Supported while studding part time. opportunities where found for staff to grow.

    Cons

No neg. on pay or bonus. Some managers are not good with people just systems, sonority and knowledge keeps them in the Middle Management position. Some management focus on a culture that makes it harder for females to get ahead, very male dominate in the FX dealing room and settlements

    Advice to Management

    foster an enviroment of improvement.
