I worked at ASECO Integrated Systems full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Employees are well treated with great benefits.
Opportunities are plenty, to learn new technologies and improve your skills.

    Cons

Fairly flat hierarchy, with not much potential to grow in to management positions.
Lots of travel (some may like that at first, but gets tiring).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not sure if things have changed now, but try to structure the organization in a way to allow for more leadership roles. Or allow your employees to grow in to such roles.

I have been working at ASECO Integrated Systems full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

-travel, but not too much (as compared to say..management consulting)
    -good pay, benefits, big bonuses
    -flexible hours, casual work environment
    -social events, year end party
-get paid for travel time (some companies do not do this)
-can convert overtime into time off

    Cons

-not clear how to get a promotion -- if you're looking for a path to upper management, you won't get it here (eg: "hope we grow and get more clients") or..wait for your boss to retire or go elsewhere.
-hours are long while on commissioning trips (12 hours days are about the norm)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward employee's hard work and skill set with new titles, salaries etc.

Good if you like to travel and you are ok with overtime.

I have been working at ASECO Integrated Systems full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

-Work Hours can be flexible (if you have something to do in the morning, you can probably come in late, as long as you mention it)
-Extra hours can be converted to more vacation days

    Cons

-Travel and overtime is absolutely necessary for site commissioning. While commissioning, 3 weeks on site, 2 weeks on office appears to be the standard depending on ammount of work
-On your Year End Bonus, apparently there's nothing to meassure work effectiveness.
-It's not clear how can you grow in the company. You can only hope the company gets more clients and eventually be in charge there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Effectiveness must be meassured and rewarded.

I have been working at ASECO Integrated Systems

    Pros

    - Many different project to work on
    - Great resource of senior knowledge
    - profit sharing

Aseco is a good place to work at if you enjoy programming, lots of good project and always pushing for advancement in technology and design

    Cons

No real pay structure, raise and salary is based on how much they feel you are worth to the company. Would like to see some sort of overall salary range for say junior , intermediate or senior programmers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Would like to see more emphasis and detail on the employee review process. Would like to see more procedure and structure for certifications.

I have been working at ASECO Integrated Systems

    Pros

Good management. Nice co-workers. Opportunity for travel. Profit sharing. The coffee isn't bad either. Horizontal corporate structure.

    Cons

It is located in Oakville, which is good if you don't like commuting but it's a boring city. Less than perfectly defined corporate policies, which is good if you enjoy flexibility, but it shuns growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great job. Could do with a little more marketing.
