    Pros

System Wide has been upgraded, Tel Phone, Training, Customizations to Connect HRIS and Payroll. Upper Management is Striving to make their employees feel comfortable with their work so they complete their tasks on a timely Matter.

    Cons

Performance Review Management is not done on a Timely manner with Salary Planning, Merit Increases, bonus. Open Door Policy in HR is not that "true". Promotions and Moving Up that the Ladder takes decades.

Accrual for both PTO and 403b is no-no.

    Overall b+

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Staff is supportive, really knows their stuff. Casual work environment with excellent health benefits. Good place for young engineers to get started.

    Cons

HR often hires from outside the company. If you're not an engineer you'd better have 2-3 years previous work experience in your particular field. Company likes hiring prospective employees who look good on paper, not so much in person. Won't give you a chance to move up unless you have 95% of what the job requires.

    Advice to Management

Promote dedicated, hard working employees from within. Help improve morale by allowing employees to take additional classes that aren't specific to their individual job. Employees will grow old hoping they get a promotion from hard work alone.

    Pros

Friendly environment, the organization has good goals, you're "helping the world", nice office, invested in technology, great location, interesting business, training available, stable employment

    Cons

Siloed departments, petty quibbles within middle management, some of the employees are unmotivated, difficult to get cross department work done, change is slow because engineers are pretty conservative

    Advice to Management

Micromanagement less, trust your trustworthy employees, ignore confrontations with other middle managers

    Pros

Great work/life balance. Relatively good compensation package for a non-profit. Low pressure environment where people seem to stay here for the long term.

    Cons

As typical for a non-profit environment the primary company motivation is not revenue growth so even the simplest things tend to take a long time.

    Pros

Great people to work with, professional, helpful and very genuine.
Traveling to Conferences is good for experience, exposure and is hard work but can have fun with co-workers.
The company health insurance benefits are solid better than most. They have wellness programs and health fairs.
Depending on the department growth is possible.
Bonuses and Employee recognition can be pushed by your Manager

    Cons

Too many reorganizations for particular departments and not enough communication from Upper Management. Training can be a long process if conducted by IT.

In regards to time-off policies PTO-Personal time off and Sick days are clumped together. you are allotted
1 or 1.5 days after a year and only 2 days per month after 5 years.
Bonuses, Employee recognition are few and far between, HR very critical.
This Company's HR Dept. is very supportive of Upper Management.

    Advice to Management

Great employees should be rewarded and ideas should be utilized!

    Pros

Supportive and friendly people with a relaxed office environment. Great location in the midtown. You are able to really contribute during your internship to your department - it allowed for real growth and they are invested in helping you develop.

    Cons

As most of the work will involve some aspect of engineering, it would help if you had some general interest in it, but it's not necessary. The work done during your internship will help you in your career.

    Advice to Management

Keep up your great work and continue to further promote the growth of your interns
