Pros
Good pay once at top pay
Great benefits
Cons
Not a pro family company
Management lacks management skills
High politics and favoritism
Lots of sales not much customer service
Advice to Senior Management
Management should know the job of the people they manage
Not just talk the walk
Pros
flexible with school , commissions, easy job if you have no life ,its retail so high energy is a plus . good luck
Cons
customer are very entertaining at times, most dont know what they want . comp plan is always changing, so be very aware
Advice to Senior Management
dont burn out the people that work for you. and dont ignore those that have ample time with the company for clueless college grads
Pros
-hard working, smart co-workers
-good benefits
-good products
-salary is pretty good, but expect to work long hours (which makes it less good)
Cons
-worst financial management tools I have ever seen
-too big & complex to manage properly
-dysfunctional leadership from HQ
- the "One ATT" may be great for customers, but is not working on managing wireless division
Advice to Senior Management
Everything seems to managed from the top down. HQ directs this, HQ directs that. Listen to what your regional markets say they need, and give them the money to do it.
Pros
Culture and environment are great.
Cons
The rewards are sometimes overwhelming.
Advice to Senior Management
keep up the great work.
Pros
Good wage scale and vacation package. Union environment provides some job protection. Insurance is provided, but not as good as some other copmanies.
Cons
Inept management that preaches good customer service yet has absolutely no concept of what requires. Time limit on troubleshooting, not provided with the proper training or tools and too many departments involved in the process. Mandatory overtime for months on end with no end in sight. Upper management is only concerned with the "numbers" that translate into their bonuses. Management will do all that is necessary to achieve their numbers at the expense of employees and customers alike. I have been told that my job is not to resolve the customers issues, only to make my numbers. Very disappointing experience with no changes in sight. The company hires contract labor that is teased with the possibility of permanent hire, then terminates their contract before they are hired. Constant turnover causes the constant turmoil in the work centers.
Advice to Senior Management
Management must realize that customer service is not just lip service, it is an investment that must be made from the top down. Until management decides to invest the time and money to actually provide "excellent customer service" and have "very satisfied" customers, this company will never be able to achieve their goals. Management must take a long hard look at themselves before blaming and browbeating the employees for not being able to achieve the constantly changing job requirements.
Pros
-Great Base salary raises I started in 2006 at 16.60 per hour and over a four year period I ended at 27.66 hourly
-If you work hard and over-exceed your quota you will be awarded with a free trip at the end of the year
Cons
-The manager you have will determine if you survive in this company
-No work life balance they work you like a dog mandatory overtime
-not only are you required to meet quotas but also, adherence, and surveys, you literally have to ask to attend the bathroom, if you have a bladder problem then this job is not for you
-you sales are on a day to day basis you could have had an awesome day yesterday but if your performance is not the same or better you will be coached or your manager would make you feel as though yesterday does not matter.
-Turnover rate is ridiculous because now they are hiring employees with 60%pay and 40% commission and paying them base $10 per hour
-Last there is no way to keep up with what you sell and the commission sucks if you don't switch to 60-40, who can blame us for not wanting to switch especially when u cannot keep up with what you sell and your adherence and customer surveys determines the percentage of your check which is all a scam not to pay you what you worked so hard for ...
Advice to Senior Management
-Please stop trying to get rid of your veteran reps just to hire new employees to pay them less it for well payed employees take care of customers.
-Please divide customer service/billing from sales because its hard for sales associates to focus on billing disputes when their manager is breathing down their neck to SELL SELL SELL....
-PAY ALL your sales associate great commission or-else we will not be motivated to sell
-Allow Overtime to be a choice not a command whereas you can loose your job for not doing overtime
Pros
The money was the only good thing about working for AT&T.
Cons
AT&T is the prime example of Corporate America. They are ruthless and cruel. So many of my co-workers went home night after night in tears. They raised the rates on customers after saying they wouldn't when they bought the baby bell companies. They closed most California offices down after saying that we would not lose our jobs when they bought us (Pacific Bell). They got around the monopoly laws via loop holes. They outsource to India, which hurts our economy and frustrates the customers. They are evil, and have destroyed so many lives, I hate them with a passion.
Advice to Senior Management
Even If what I said could change something for the better, this is a company too big and powerful to care about feedback or advice.
Pros
Pay is decent, max out at $23/hr.
Automatic pay raises every 6 months.
Healthcare premiums only $75/month for entire family.
Cons
Terrible work/home balance 6-7days/wk 10-12hrs/day.
Constant threats to our jobs for not meeting impossible numbers that mostly can't be controlled.
Advice to Senior Management
Meeting numbers by any means necessary will ultimately involve mistreating the customer which isn't the technicians fault but management's.
Pros
Excellent benefits. Holidays and vacations were good.
Cons
Even though they have make one billion in net profits a month and have for years you are made to feel pretty lucky to have benefits and a pen to write with.
Advice to Senior Management
You will never have the dedicated and talented employees you had because of how badly you treat them now.
Pros
no pros, it has okay benefits
Cons
quota driven, portfolio of existing clients is the luck of the draw.
