    Pros

    Good benefits and experience

    Cons

Too many changes, sometimes you don't know what's the priorities are. Quality of life in big stores is unbearable sometimes, leadership vision and expectations are not clear. Too much reaction vs. being proactive.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Decent pay, a lot of hours, meeting new people, room for growth in the company. New equipment every other year

    Cons

Management sucks, think they own everybody, will fire you if you don't go out of town, doesn't care if your kids are Mentally ill, or if you're single father if they want you out of town you will go or you're fired

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Needs to reevaluate all of management, firing people who are good employees because they're unable to travel is not a good reason

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great pay, benefits, opportunity for advancement within the U-verse organization.
This company (at least in U-verse) rewards and promotes people that produce results and have the drive to advance, and not the people that simply have degrees or fancy education.
IF YOU CAN BE SUCCESSFUL HERE WITH ALL THAT'S ASKED OF YOU, YOU COULD GO ANYWHERE AND BE A ROCKSTAR OF AN EMPLOYEE!

    Cons

Can sometimes be a little blurry on whats OK and whats not OK in order to get better results. I would just like things, in that sense, to be a little bit more black and white.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is great for anyone that can sell but doesn't have a college degree. Great benefits and tons of free stuff.

    Cons

Everything is seniority based. If you haven't been with the company over 10 years do not expect any weekends or holidays off and you will always have the worst shifts.

    I love the teameffort.

    Cons

I worked at AT&T part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Good people, obviously stable company, and industry. There's good opportunity to make good money, if you're comfortable dealing with people, and working hard.

    Cons

It's so large, and bureaucratic it's easy to get lost in the shuffle. Some short sighted ideas from middle management. ATT has the problems any large origination has with 10's of thousands of employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Really be more careful about who you hire, or promote to be a liaison between corporate, and the normal employees.

Former Employee - Operations Support Representative in Fort Worth, TX

    I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good Benefits and friendly employees. Training, education and advancement encouraged but not pushed on those who do not want it. Union contract promotes longevity and support with employee disputes. Good, friendly people to work with.

    Cons

Declining benefits and high pressure for reps to meet and exceed sales goals. Schedules make it difficult for family life as in most retail jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need more focus on store operations compliance. Listen more to employees in the stores who are focused on pleasing customers and getting their jobs done well. They know the store's and the customers' needs more than people who only see numbers.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Once you are an established and valued member of the AT&T family, you are on the track for a long career with growth opportunities all along the way.

    Cons

Unfortunately, over the years as the company transitioned and took on the global name and philosophies of AT&T, the customers became second to profit. No longer was customer care and service a strong base for meeting results.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to what worked. As SWBT, there was an understanding and care for the customer that carried through all departments. And the results were happy customers who retained services and increased services.
