I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent pay and benefits. The technology is good to work with. The training is decent. A good company to work for.

    Cons

Job security is a constant concern. Management philosophy is antagonistic toward employees. Customer service seems to have taken a back seat to the bottom line.

    Advice to Management

    Customer service is important.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great pay, good benefits, stock options, and they give you a lot of company related perks. You can build relationships with customers and businesses over time that are lovely.

    Cons

Very stressful when constantly dealing with high stretch goals, a plethora of angry frustrated customers at times, and manager who just want numbers in a market who's demand is changing quickly. The health is okay, not what it use to be. The pay has also dropped by nearly 7,000 from what I started in commission payout. It all depends on your managers and your market sales. If your market is good then it's a fun job, it your market sales are bad then you job is going to suk and your managers will make sure of that.

    Advice to Management

Get better managers. Get people who create a positive atmosphere who make you want to work for them. Not dictators who see you as a number. We have a point system. It is used in observations of sales. It goes from 1-5. My arsm only allows a 1 or a 3.. I am in the process of an hr clause now for a manager that has stated she hates her job and the people she works with but is still allowed to observe and pick and choose who to observe. Guess who gets all ones.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay. You are compensated very well. Hourly is very competitive with other retail jobs in the area, but the bonus is that you also get commission on top of it. I knew coworkers that made around 70k+ a year. That's really good for a non management retail position.

    Cons

Bad hours if you have a family. To make good commission you HAVE to work nights and weekends. Constant pressure to make sales quotas. Some managers force you to bend selling rules in order to make quotas. I ultimately left the company because I was not comfortable treating customers the way I was being asked to do. It's all about hitting quota.

    Advice to Management

    Care about customers.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, ever changing, potential to move up.

    Cons

Managers have lost most perks, pay trends below market standards, there seems to be a break down of work life balance for managers, benefits cost more for managers.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

AT&T is a well-known, established company. There was no cold-calling or sales involved.

    Cons

The management at the time of my employment were not willing to work with my schedule to accommodate my school schedule.

    Pros

Performance reviews Raises as a direct result of you performance review Bonus as a direct result of your performance review Managements top priority are their employees Very family oriented Pay is competitive for the areas Vacation time is better than most

    Cons

Placed on a permanent "black list" if you leave for another higher paying opportunity Not many other opportunities on the government contracting side of at&t

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the "black list" for those that left the company in good standing.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay and benefits are good, the amount of vacation you get is a plus. The longer you work with the company the more vacation you get. You can become fully vested in the 401k after 3 years of service.

    Cons

Like anywhere, you are going to have you're problems. The things that happen that are major issues seem to take a back seat to the smaller issues. Smaller issues tend to be blown out of proportion.

    Advice to Management

Actually listen to other employees, when you come to visit where you are responsible for at least make an effort to visit the employees and talk with them instead of just the higher up's.

    Cons

Work life balance is not the best though it can vary. Lots and lots of sales related pressure.

    Advice to Management

You need to be cohesive with what comes down the pipeline.

    Cons

micromanaging by alot of folks trying to justify there jobs

    Advice to Management

ive got an idea, let the customer facing employees take care of the business and maybe spend a little less time watching the clocks, and you should read the code of business ethics every month like we have to
